Captain's Log - Day #136
Our tracker has finally launched in what we can only hope is the Rainbow's direction. If it isn't, I guess it'll be another half a year till we have another lead. I've joined Jon, Uni, Nick, Ashlie and Jess at our current base on Earth. Dawn is still at Homeworld getting the status update.
-Temp. Captain Cory, 16th June, 2018.

It's always something to write in that book. Just the thought of people possibly reading these random squiggles and interpreting them as what I mean is amazing to me. Not to mention that each human has an individual and unique way of writing, but it's still read the same way. And don't even get me started on all the-

"Cory! Ship inbound!"

"Different colors!"

"What? Cory, we've asked you not to 'get high' as humans call it, indoors."

"What? No! I wasn't doing weed! That's only on the weekends. I was finishing a thought aloud."

"Nani the fuck? You are so high right now. I bet."

"You said there was a ship Ashlie."

"Yeah, a ship is in the middle of landing and I was told to come get you. But I don't even think you should be walking right now. We need people who can walk in straight lines."

"Allie or enemy?"

"Unmarked."

"Oh, I guess you could say it's a..."

"Don't you fucking dare."

"...UFO!"

"Come out when you stop tripping and form a good sense of humor." She ran out, grabbing her  taser gun. I do the same and join Jess in her hiding spot, as Ashlie joins Nick. We wait to see who comes out of the shuttle, hoping it's just Dawn and we don't have to use these taser guns. But hey, protocols are there for a reason. For example, if a Unicorn soldier steps out that shuttle as soon as it lands, we have to detain them until Homeworld is contacted.

"OPEN FIRE!" Shit! I was so busy thinking about what to do if the ship landed and it was U.H, that I didn't realize the damn thing had landed. We're all firing at the 6 soldiers that had come from the ship, but they were seemingly not affected. In fact, I just felt a small shock on one of my fingers, and can no longer feel it. They've found a material that reflects the taser shots back at us.

"Jess! Stop and duck!" I drag her down, giving her no choice in the matter.

"What! Cory why?"

"You're welcome~"

"For what? Being a coward!?"

"Wait, what?" We heard the sound of someone being tasered, and their limp body hitting the floor. Me and Jess both peek over our hiding spot to see five of the soldiers dealing with Ashlie's paralyzed body and the other one looking at Nick, who was being held back by Jon and Uni.

"LET ME SAVE HER!" Nick was screeching by this point. Uni and Jon both concentrated on holding him back, knowing that if he tried saving Ashlie, he'd get captured too. Me and Jess stood, watching from the side as they boarded back onto the ship with Ashlie and left. Once they were gone, Jess and I went and joined the other three. Uni and Jon let go of Nick, and he just collapsed. "It should've been me." I heard him whisper under his breath.

"Nick, there was nothing we could've done. How were we-"

"SHUT UP CORY! YOU WEREN'T EVEN HELPING! YOU AND JESS DUCKED DOWN AND DIDN'T FIGHT LIKE A COUPLE OF CHICKENS!"

"Nick, they-"

"I had no choice in the matter. I was in the middle of firing when i was dragged down out of line of sight by Cory."

"Cory, why would you do that?" Jon looked so disappointed with me.

"Guys I-"

"NO CORY. JUST SHUT UP AND LEAVE! IF IT WEREN'T FOR YOUR COWARDICE, ASHLIE MIGHT STILL BE HERE, NOT ON A SHIP TO THE ENEMY'S HOMEWORLD! SO JUST FUCK OFF." I look to Jess for sympathy, but all I get is a cold glare as she turns to comfort Nick. I open my mouth to say something, but Uni stops me.

"You should wait downstairs Cory." I give them all one last glance, ending with Uni's stare. "Now please." I turn and leave the roof. I walk down several flights of stairs, pack my bags and leave. The only things I left in my room were the stuff that was already there when we moved in and a note explaining that i'd left, why and that i'm sorry. I also left the Captain's log for Nick in his room. I leave the building and I don't look back. There is no going back there now.

~Hope you all enjoyed! Sorry no post last week and no drawing this week. Personal issues have been arisen as well as me working on something quite big for "New School, Old Faces". I'll leave it there. Bye!~
