The car ride back home was mostly silent, except the occasional frustrated sigh from Chris. When we pulled into the driveway, I got out quickly, going inside and sitting on the couch. Chris sat down next to me.
"Why did you go visit Ryan?" He asked, turning his torso to face me.
"Why does it matter?" I hissed back at him, crossing my arms over my chest.
He sighed. "Kayla, I don't trust him around you, okay? He has full reason to hate you, to want you to fail. Just stay away from him, okay? Please, for me?"
"Fine." I mumbled, turning away from him.
I had no truthful intention of staying away from him. He was nice to me, why not be his friend? I could easily sneak around Chris and the rest of the boys, just wait until their drunk enough and then just walk out the door. They won't even notice I'm gone.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket and pulled up Twitter. I had a new personal message.
'@RyanS666: What did Chris say?'
'@KaylaMIW: He told me not to talk to you, or go around you anymore.'
He replied a few minutes later.
'@RyanS666: Wow, really? I guess I'll leave you alone then.'
'@KaylaMIW: But... I'd like to be your friend.'
'@RyanS666: So, what'd you say to Chris?'
'@KaylaMIW: I said okay. But I'm willing to lie...?'
'@RyanS666: I'm not going to ask you to do that, Kayla.'
'@KaylaMIW: No, it's fine. I'm fine with lying.'
I tucked my phone back in my pocket and walked to my room, shutting and locking the door before walking into my bathroom and turning on the shower. I pulled off my top and stared at my reflection in the mirror, sighing. I'd spent my entire life wishing I was attractive in even the least bit, but my wish had never came true.
I finished undressing and hopped into the shower, running my hands through my wet hair in the hot water. I grabbed my strawberry scented shampoo and squeezed a glob into my hand, lathering it into my hair. After washing my body, I turned off the water before stepping out and wrapping a fluffy red towel around me.
I pulled my phone out of the pocket of my jeans and walked into my bedroom, sitting on my bed despite the fact that I was still soaked. I sat the phone down on my bedside table and pulled my knees up to my chest, sighing. Who did Chris think he was, telling me who I could be friends with? The nerve of some people.
Getting up off my bed, I walked to my dresser, opening the top drawer and grabbing a pair of lacey panties before pulling them on. I tossed the towel onto my bed and pulled a bra out of the drawer. I walked back into the bathroom and pulled my hair dryer out from under the sink, plugging it in and turning it on.
Once my hair was dry, I ran my straightener over the few wavy chunks until it was pin straight. I grabbed my phone off the bedside table and unlocked it, checking the time. It was only 10:18 P.M., the boys don't even start drinking until eleven. I walked over to the door of my giant closet, opening it up and stepping inside. I grabbed a pair of black skinny jeans with slits all the way down the front and pulled them on before yanking a black Asking Alexandria hoodie over my head. I hurried back into the bathroom and began putting on my makeup, taking my time.
When I was done, I checked the time again. 10:45P.M. Perfect. I threw on a pair of black Vans and stuffed my phone into the pocket of my hoodie before walking out of my room and shutting the door.
"-and you're just delusional. There's no way he could beat him." I heard Balz saying as I emerged from the hallways and sat down next to Ang, who, along with Chris, Balz, Devin, and Ricky, had a beer in his hand.
"Kayla!" Ricky said, taking a sip of his beer and jabbing his thumb in Balz' direction. "Would you please tell this idiot that Batman has no chance against Superman?"
"Batman has no chance against Superman." I mumbled, staring at my lap. It was no fair that these guys got to hang out whenever, wherever, and for whatever reason, but I had to sneak around to even see Ryan. I pulled out my phone and opened Twitter, sending Ryan a quick message.
'@KaylaMIW: Meet me at Taco Bell at midnight, don't be late.'
