ELDORADO- *On hold*

Chapter-7

"How long do you kids take " said Varsha with a hint of irritation . 

But that still did not make her voice loose its charm on Jasper who stood rooted to his spot mesmerized as before. 

"Snap" said Vincent snapping his fingers before Jasper while Vanessa nudged him simultaneously. 

"The purpose of your visit ?" asked Vanessa with a cold glance at Varsha and a sweet smile directed at Vincent . 

"The queen wishes to meet both of you'll tomorrow for lunch. " said Vincent emphasizing ' the queen'  saying it like a prayer.

"What?" cried Jasper nearly chocking.  

They just couldn't believe they were invited for lunch by the queen herself. 

"Now I'm sure we are definitely dreaming Jas. " said Vanessa.  

"Ouch" she yelped when Jasper pinched her hand.  

"This was to check if we were dreaming and we definitely are not. " said Jasper chuckling when he received a glare from Vanessa.  

"You could've pinched yourself to know that you jerk! " said a visibly irritated Vanessa . 

"Ok now enough of this bickering you two and hear up what we have got to tell you. One thing you should know is that you should wear umm...good clothes" said Varsha scrutinizing their appearance.  

"Hey! Whats wrong with our dresses? " asked Vanessa slightly pouting . 

" Well its gothy so try putting on something vibrant. Maybe a blue, a yellow or maybe red , but certainly refrain from black tomorrow at lunch ." said Varsha while Vincent stood with a bored expression waiting for this to get over. 

"Ok then off we go ." said Vincent glad this was over. 

Jasper famished went up to the cabinets.  

The cabinet he opened had all kinds of crispies. 

He grabbed two packets out.  

In the next cabinet he saw different types of dips and again picked two . 

Vanessa stood smiling at the door glad that he was bringing food for her as well.  

He openend another cabinet and saw loaves of bread.  

In the first refrigerator were fruits and vegetables all sliced in different shapes and in the other refrigerator there were different types of cheese, cheese spreads, milk, juice, coke, etcetera. 

He made two sandwiches plopped all the food he collected and the coke he had just opened on to a tray. 

Smiling at Vanessa he carried the tray to the counter nearby. 

Setting it down he started tucking in.

"Thank you Jas that's really sweet of you. " saying so she reached out to pick up a sandwich when 'smack' Jasper hit her hand preventing her from taking anything on the tray. 

With a sweet smile he said "Get your own Anne! ".  

Vanessa had a shocked expression which immediately turned to disgust "Aren't you worse than a pig! Look at you stuff your face."  

Saying so, she gracefully walked over to the cabinets and settled with her lunch on the couch as far as possible from Jasper. 

After they were done with their lunch they sat on the couch fighting for dominance over the remote.  

Finally Vanessa won it.  

They flicked through channels and found nothing interesting. 

They went over to the balcony attached to their king sized suite and strolled along it looking at the beauty of the land that stretched far finally merging into the ocean. 

Together they stood in silence watching how the sun dipped into the ocean at the horizon casting the skies as well as the ocean below in a hue of red, orange, pink and light blue with white clouds swirling in intervals.  

Slowly they noticed the beautiful shades of the sky and the ocean (reflecting the colours of the sky) turn black with specks of stars one by one adorning the night sky.  

The land was truly breathtaking. The lights from the flame torches lined at every pavement, the fireflies in the woods "WOW! Truly beautiful ."said an awe struck Vanessa. 

"Hey look out there don't you see a flame like huge thing over that mountain?" asked Jasper pointing out to a mountain at a distance from their rest house. 

"Fire in the mountain?" asked Vanessa with a doubt because it dint look like the trees around that flame was burning too. 

They stood there for sometime checking out what exactly it was. When they were convinced it wasn't a forest fire they realized due to the soft breeze they were beginning to feel drowsy. 

Finally they were off to bed after this long day.  

Hours passed... 

The eerie silence hung heavy in the night air as if it was a premonition to evil... 

SUDDENLY

An owl hooted as if to amplify the nocturnal silence.  

No other sounds were audible not even the usual crickets chirping had ceased this night.  

It was like the world laid on a death pan or like it was awaiting bewitchment and that in any moment death shall befall on all those who live here. 

Suddenly A loud feminine shriek jolts the daylight out of Jasper awakening him rudely . 

"Shit" cried Jasper.
