ELDORADO- *On hold*

Chapter-4

The figure slowly turned to face him.  

Two shrieks filled the night air sending a shiver down the spine...suddenly all sounds ceased and both held their breath only to burst out laughing...!

"Anne it was you..!" his voice reflecting relief that flooded through him seeing Vanessa. I was pretty much freaked at the sight of the all black looming figure near the spooky tree at this unearthly hour...!" said jasper trying to control his laughter. 

"Ha at last you agreed you fear the almighty" said Vanessa still pale faced but laughing. 

"Anne even a fly wouldn't fear a person like you " retorted Jasper. 

"Hey now that's an insult what do you mean by saying a person like you. " said Vanessa with a furrowed brow and a hurt expression stamped on her face which immediately turned to an indifferent expression and as fast as it came it vanished to a beaming smile. 

"Your late buddy by um...yes 4 minutes and now it strikes 23:42 "she said looking into her black strap digital watch."And HEYY..! You know what I found the parchment after all" said Vanessa bouncing up and down flushed with excitement. 

"Where was it?"enquired an excited jasper. 

"It was in the beautiful red crystal rose your mom gifted me and oh tell her I loveeed it..!"  

"One sec Anne how can it be IN the crystal?" asked jasper now confused utterly. 

"I'm sorry I meant as a wrapping with which she gift wrapped because of which you dint realize it was there at your house itself all this while..!" 

"I couldn't believe our luck. After all credit is mine aint it for finding it" she said with a wink and a grin.  

"Shut up Anne would you ever let a chance like this to pass by, without a taunt" said Jasper sticking his tongue out at her like a 5 year old. 

They walked over to the tree cautiously looking back and forth scanning the surroundings for any more looming creatures. 

They started the countdown... 

"FIVE.... 

FOUR...... 

THREE..... 

TWO...." 

Together they shouted  

"ONE..." 

At the same time they noticed a root snap out from the ground and out of impulse both held on to it. 

It grew long....long enough that it snapped from the tree.  

With a gasp from Jasper and a shriek from Vanessa they were hauled into the skies. Clutching the root for dear life hanging they looked below only to find they had gained speed and could only see a blur of green and brown.  

"Shit we are screwed...!" shouted Jasper which came out barely as a whisper.  

They found themselves flying over water at a great speed. That was when they panicked beyond words. 

"Oce...an....w...eee arrre ffflyingg o...verr it frrr...eeeeaakkk..."Vanessa managed to say what with the wind battering from the opposite direction with great speed. 

"Stoppp ...hyperrr..ventilaaaa..tingg ann...shhhhittttt..."screamed Jasper. 

"Whaaat silllll...yyyy? Ss...topp yelling myy EARS..!" 

"AARRGHH...hell with it...! I just lost my expensive shoe..!!! I've got just one on what do with it?"  

"No ways did u just add to the pollution there? All the fishes down here will be officially reported dead with your shoe in there..!Heaven knows how the poor aquatic life will bear the stench nd the muck stuck on it...!"said Vanessa scrunching up her face as if to show disgust. 

"You're no help Anne. Hey btw noticed that the speed has drastically decreased?" asked Jasper. 

"Yeah I'm able to hear and see with much more clarity" said Vanessa.  

And suddenly they jerked downwards losing altitude at a very fast rate... 

"Shitt we are crashing..! OMG...!"cried out Vanessa with desperation.  

Jasper could only close his eyes and started thinking about all whom he loved and bade them farewell mentally. 

When "CRASH" they fell. None of them opened their eyes . 

Slowly hesitating in the beginning Vanessa opened her eyes. "Are we dead is this what they call heaven? It's sooo beautiful and Bright" said Vanessa awe struck to Jasper who just realized instead of crashing on the solid ground they lay on hay stack which ensured safe landing.  

"WHO THE HELL DO YOU PEOPLE THINK YOU ARE" boomed a voice out of nowhere freezing their movements and binding them by invisible chords to their spot.
