I woke up with the rays of sunlight hitting my face, and with the journal and the voice recorder sitting on the coffee table. I was about to check if Louis is awake or not, but I found his arms wrapped around my waist, and his head buried on the crook of my neck. I can hear his breathing calm and soothing, giving me an answer that he’s perfectly sleeping. I tried to unbuckle myself from his arms but I failed.
I tried once more, but this time, Louis felt it and made him awake.
“Sorry Lou, good morning. Sorry I woke you up.” I looked at his sleepy façade, trying to open his eyes.
“Got a good sleep?” I asked. He wrapped his arms on me and pulled me on his chest, placing his legs on mine. He’s heavy, but he’s fit. He just breathed out and let out a hum, nuzzling on my hair.
“Good morning, beautiful.” He said, turning me around to face him. His long arched eyelashes brushed mine, lighting my eyes with his blue ones. “Grayish blue.” I said.
He let out a small chuckle and smiled at me. “Greenish brown. Your tree eyes.” he smiled again and decided to sleep some more.

“Jay! How are the kids?”
As I told to Veronica, Johannah and I are constantly meeting at Theresa Mae’s. Catching up life and to relax.
Veronica knew jay; she even calls her mom when they come over or when V’s at her house, but she can’t remember any of that.
“Good! Nothing’s new. It’s summer, they just do teenage things and stuffs.” Jay said, taking a piece on her apple pie.
“Summer love!” I gasped and wiggle my eyebrows knowing that V and Lou are having their time. I am just hoping that nothing worse will happen to them, just like mine.
“How’s V?” I asked her. I purposely recommended Jay’s house for my daughter to sleep for the night because a) she’s a best friend of mine, b) she knows everything about me, and c) Louis’s in the house.
For all I know, she’ll just crash to Teasdale’s house and dye her hair and do makeovers after they go job hunting. But she obviously doesn’t remember that.
In fact, she doesn’t remember anything.
“Well, good. Lottie almost spilled the beans but I hope she won’t notice a thing. Plus Louis got her some remembering stuffs.” She stated. Remembering stuffs?
“What are those?” I asked, looking at her with confusion in my eyes.
“A camera, a journal, and a voice recorder. She really loves it, though. She took many photos of us with our names and stuffs, and I think they’re going to your house to decorate her room or something.”
I gave her a nod and ate the cheesecake that I ordered, and so is Jay.
“What did the doctor said yesterday?” she asked. I lied. Well, half lied.
I went to Dr. Moore yesterday, and asked about Veronica’s brain. Well, she has amnesia. She doesn’t remember anything after three days. The only thing she remembers permanently is me being her mom, her being graduated, and the rest are just blank.
She has nightmares; it’s the only thing she remembers from her childhood. She doesn’t remember her friends. She doesn’t remember having a job.
Every time we watch 50 first dates, I always tell her that she has one of that, but longer time span than the girl on the movie. She will cry after the movie, the fact sunk in the next day, and a mental breakdown on the last day of her temporary memoirs.
I didn’t think of that, though. Louis did a great job. Wow.
“Oh, well she added more supplements for Veronica to take, but it’s just painkillers. She’ll swallow those when she has nightmares and panic attacks or something.”
“She had one last night, one in the morning.” I looked at her, her eyes telling me that it’s fine.
“Louis woke up. She’s fine. They slept together. But they didn’t.. you know what.”
“Wow, seriously when Veronica has nightmares she won’t sleep for a week and just mute. She shuts herself down. She didn’t even take her meds even if she needed to. That’s new.” I said amusement on my tone.
“Louis’s something. Just like when they were kids.” Jay said.
“Innit.”
