"How is she?" Zeren asked, looking a little pale. He hasn't had any decent sleep ever since they found out Meizen's in the hospital. None of them has.

The police had located where Meizen's father was hiding and the only thing they're waiting for is for her to wake up.

Chengcheng bawled his fists, "I should have been there for her. But instead - instead, I was fighting with my bestfriend."

Lili frowned, "You know sometimes, I don't get boys."

"And I don't get you." Justin hissed. "What are you still doing here?"

She shrugged, "Waiting for Meizen to wake up."

"We don't need you here," Wenjun said in a straightforward manner.

"Wow, you guys really adore her, huh?" Lili comments, hearing the door closing from Meizen's room.

Quanzhe walked out, wiping the tears from his cheeks, "Where's Zhu Zhengting?"

"He's with Mei's mom in the police station," Xinchun replied, fixing the position of Meizen's little brother on his lap.

Quanzhe nods, stealing a glance at Chengcheng before looking at Lili, "You should go. This isn't your place."

"But Quanzhe," Lili looks at the boys. "I think I deserve to explain myself that this isn't my fault."

"We know," Zeren stood up, scratching his head. "You've been saying that for the past hour. We've heard you already."

"But we still won't accept you because of what you did to her before," Justin adds.

Lili bit her lip, "That was just one time! I played a prank on her, one time!"

"Enough!" Chencheng exclaimed, walking towards Lili as he grabbed her wrist. "You're leaving,"

"Chengcheng," Lili said, as the boy pushed her outside the doors of the hospital. "Are you not mad at Quanzhe, too?"

"Why would I be?" Chengcheng countered. "Zhengting's right. Quanzhe was only helping Meizen to get better. That's what we were all doing, because she's our friend."

"But you said Quanzhe was going to hurt her!"

"That's because you manipulated me!" He says, pointing at her. "You told me the only way Meizen wouldn't get hurt anymore is if Quanzhe comes back to you. I believed you - which clearly was a huge mistake."

Lili scoffed, "What's so special about her anyway? She's just a plain, sick girl who's secretly a slut by befriending you -"

Lili was shocked. Never in her life would she imagine that someone would slap her. And to think it had to be Fan Chengcheng of all people.

Chengcheng gritted his teeth, "Insult me. Insult the boys. That I can tolerate. But don't you dare insult Meizen right in front of me."

Lili's hands were trembling as she touched her red cheeks. She stomped away, yelling at some random strangers.

Chengcheng turned around and met face to face with Quanzhe who was standing in front of the door.

"You slapped her," Quanzhe said, pointing at Lili with his head.

The latter shrugged, "She deserved it. After what she's done to her."

Quanzhe didn't reply as Chengcheng walked past him but before he can get into the elevator, Quanzhe dropped a question, "Do you like Meizen?"
