Long Forgotten Memories

I heard a car stop at my driveway, assuming it was Alex. I said goodbye to my dear mother and left the house, with my things. I was right, it is Alex. He instantly got out of his car when he saw me, I rushed over to him as well.

"What happened?" Alex asked observing my bruised, bloodied face. "My father he..-" It was like I was being compelled to not speak of what happened,"I don't want to talk about it right now, but I will tell you soon.. Can we just get the hell out of here?" I said walking to Alex's car. I got into the front seat and set down my bag onto my lap, closing the car door.

I was too tense to even think straight, thoughts over thoughts kept piling into my mind, it was all too much. I didn't even notice Alex got into the car already, until I felt his hand touch my shoulder. I looked over at him, as he looked over at me in the eyes. Everything was silent at the moment, all that was heard was the crickets, we were just focusing on looking at each other's eyes.

He began to lean forward, and by surprise I was too. But, I just..stopped, this wasn't right. "I'm sorry, I just...- you and Nico, aren't you two together now?" I asked looking away from him and at the window in embarrassment. "It's complicated, I don't know what we are" Alex said as removed his hand from my shoulder, drove off from my driveway and onto the road, towards Molly's and Gert's place.

The whole car ride, it was silent. Neither one of us talked to each other, which got more and more awkward by the minute. I don't know what I was thinking back there, I don't really like Alex that way..don't I? Even if I possibly do, does he even feel the same way or is he just being sympathetic and trying to make me feel better?

When we arrived, we noticed that Stacy and Dale weren't home. I threw my bag over my shoulder and opened the car door, closing it behind me. Alex got out too awkwardly as usual, which made me smile a bit. I turned towards Alex and said, "Hey Alex, uhm..can you please keep what almost happened back there a secret? I just don't want to start anymore drama" He faintly smiled and nodded in agreement.

We both walked up the porch and I rang the doorbell, Gert opened the door a few seconds after I just rang ,as if she was watching us from the door. "Woah......what happened to your pretty face?!!" Gert semi-yelled at me. I looked back at Alex and then Gert, "Uhm, nothing I just fell really" I said fake smiling "Oh Really? Did you fall onto spikes as well?" Gert said sarcastically "Yea, thousands of painfully piercing spikes" I replied to her in sarcasm, which made us both laugh.

Alex and I both walked inside, seeing everyone else in the living room having fun and laughing. All of that immediately stopped when they took a look at my beaten up face, embarrassed by it, I wanted to cry but I held back the tears. I already cried enough tonight, "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!?!!" Nico, Karolina, and Chase shouted in terrifyingly perfect unison.
