"Mari!" Lilyanne screamed. "Where are you?" Lilyanne was Marilynn's best friend. And despite being fifthteen, both acted like a five year old. Marilynn, hiding in the closet, giggled before reaching her hand up. She grabbed hold of the shelf and lifted herself up. Lilyanne opened the door. "Mari! I know you're inside! Why are you always on a shelf?"
"Because why not," Marilynn responded falling off the shelf, and promptly onto her face. Lilyanne laughed.
"Come on silly, we're going to get you a cat!" Lilyanne offered her hand.
Marilynn glared, "I don't need a cat!" She pulled herself up continuing to glare. Lilyanne held her hands up in surrender. But dragged Marilynn to the animal shelter anyways. Because Lilyanne was concerned for her friend. Marilynn was the loneliest girl in the orphanage. So Lilyanne decided to get her a cat, after all, that is the animal all lonely people get.
