Jenna's PØV

"What were their names again?" Asked the professor.

"Who?" Replied the administrator.

"The two new ones," The professor said, trying to recall their names and faces.

"Tyler and Joshua. Apparently they're different from the others," said the administrator.

"Why, yes. Their files are indeed extraordinary," replied the professor, now being able to recall their faces. The boy with bright red hair and the other boy who seemed to have an obsession with floral patterns.

"The association will be pleased. We've been trying to find one of their kind for years. Now we have not only one, but two," said the administrator, excitedly.

"Indeed. They will be sent to the Ohio Institute shortly," said the professor with an equal amount of excitement.

"It's time for them to say goodbye to the lives they once had and everything they thought they knew," said the administrator with a short laugh. "How long were they under our surveillance until we were sure they were the right ones?" He asked.

"About 18 months. It isn't much time, but they demonstrated much of their abilities during the time they were under surveillance," replied the professor. The administrator grinned.

The association will indeed be pleased, he thought to himself.

Jenna shook her head and backed away from the lab door. The tray she carried filled with coffee and scones bumped against the wall. She froze, and tried be very silent. The voices in the lab ceased their conversation.

Slowly, Jenna backed down the corridor away from the lab. Once she was safely in the kitchen she sighed.

Abilities? Who are Tyler and Joshua? Why are they going to the Institute already? Let alone the Ohio Institute. Only the extremely high tier Sleepers get sent there, Jenna thought to herself, setting down the tray. She ran a hand through her blonde hair and picked up the two coffee cups. After heating them up and setting them back on the tray, she made her way back to the laboratory.

She knocked on the now closed door. "Administrator? Professor? Your coffee is ready."

The automatic door opened and she backed up a step. She poked her head in. "Set it on the table, will you?" Said the administrator.

"Yes, sir," she said, walking in and setting down the tray.

"Thank you. Do make sure to give yourself a break once in a while, dear," said the professor, tiredly.

"Yes, sir, I'll be sure to take a break soon."

"You are dismissed," the administrator said, picking up his cup of coffee and pouring something in.

Jenna walked out of the lab and the door closed behind her. After going to her assigned room and changing out of her uniform she plopped onto her bed. The emergency alarm blared.

"Attention all Sleepers, initiate emergency protocol. The council building is under attack. Repeat, the council building is under attack. This is not a drill," said a voice from the loud speaker. Jenna gasped. She pulled on her gear as quickly as she could and ran out into the hallway, which was swarming with other Sleepers in their gear.

"Debby! What's going on? Why are we under attack?" Jenna said, tapping the arm of her best friend who was now running beside her.

"I don't know. I think it has to do with all the rumors of those new guys," Debby said.

"The new guys? Tyler and Joshua? The ones who are being sent to the Ohio Institute?" Jenna asked, confused. Debby nodded.

What do they have to do with this? Are they in this facility? Jenna wondered.

"People are saying other associations heard about them. Everyone wants to grab hold of 'the most powerful Sleepers yet,'" Debby said, rolling her eyes.

"I don't get it, we all have abilities. What's so special about them?" Jenna asked, not really watching watching where they were going, just following the crowd.

"I know I—Jenna watch out!" Debby said, catching Jenna's arm, keeping her from from falling through the gaping hole in the ground the other Sleepers were avoiding.

"Thanks Debby. Anyways, I don't get what the big deal is, who are these new guys anyway?" Jenna said, looking at Debby.

But Debby wasn't looking at Jenna.

She was looking at the two boys standing in front of a giant hole in the wall, looking around. One of the boys had bright red hair and was wearing what looked like red war paint on his eyelids. The other boy had red eyes, black hands, and a black neck. Jenna gasped.

"I guess we're about to find out," Debby said, raising her stun gun, but not preparing to shoot.
