8. Where is he

No one's pov:

Viktor was home avoiding practicing skating, he'd realize that was just his life. Skating as his life. What would happen if he broken a bone or could never skate again? He has nothing left. He has no other ambitions, he knows it's his fate but for how long? Thoughts and doubts filled Viktor's head, and emptiness in his chest. 

Viktor was laying on his couch alone, with Makka sleeping on his bed in his bedroom alone. He was browsing some sites and social medias. Viktor sighed because there was nothing that caught his interest, then Viktor's house phone rang. Viktor calmly sat up and picked up the phone, he hates landline but he thinks it's classy and necessary. Because it is.

"Hello?" Viktor said.

"Hey Viktor~ What are you up to?" Chris voice was heard. 

"Oh! Hey, Chris. Nothing at the moment, I was just--"

"Shut up and listen." Chris interrupted him. "Are you really not gonna skate this year?" Chris continued on, choosing an uneasy topic for Viktor.

"I don't know, there was nothing for me there." Viktor sighed. "I mean I won gold medals and created "history" but I don't want this to be my only life." Viktor said, Chris remained silent.

"Fuck." Chris's last words were and then Chris hung up the phone. Viktor was worried he upsetted his friend, an only friend that he thought he'd understood or tried to understand his life.

Then the apartment's front door come firing open.

Viktor quickly looks at the door to see a mad Chris holding a new pair of skates. But it honestly doesn't compare to Viktor's gold skates.

"I was gonna say let's go skating since I am Russia. But when I called last minute, to check if you were up to it, you weren't so I had to call off a date with a model...A model!" Chris says storming in, but of course he was still in the good with Viktor.

"Well, I never asked you to." Viktor points out.

"It was a surprise! Can't a man help his bud out with life?" Chris says dramatically.

"Not if he wants him to." Viktor says sitting on the couch, Chris joins him and sighs.

"I walked here, I wanted to check what you were up to. Emotionally and mentally, I mean." Chris says which caught Viktor's attention.

"I...I did some...research. There is actually a way t-to get rid of...a...soulmate." Chris says, which pushes the topic way further than Chris intended to. "Yuuri." Viktor says. "I was a wreck because of him, honestly he made my world darker when he said let's end things. I wish I could see him now and with my mom--" Then Chris hugs Viktor, and Viktor didn't realize but he say a glimpse of a red string on his finger which worried him, is it possible to change soulmates? If Chris is his soulmate he'll have to get rid of him, because he just doesn't like him that way. But what about Yuuri? Is he alive? Did Yuuri cut ties? 

"I know you're hurting, I just don't understand why you're only talking to me about it. There's your mom, Yuri, and Yakov, Georgi, and Mila." Chris says. Viktor remained silent to think, he knows why he doesn't talk to them.

1. Mila; she won't understand and she already has a soulmate, which bothers Viktor because they are together and Viktor has a rep to uphold. But Mila amy break that rep, considering she too is into social medias and gossip.

2. Georgi; He is cool but he and Viktor don't talk, they talk when necessary but they don't choose to. And if Viktor did, he might get more than a solution from Georgi, maybe a group sessions or some shit.

3. Yuri; He does know about Yuuri, and he knows about Viktor. Yuri understands Viktor and he pushes him to work harder when Viktor doesn't want to, Yuri reminds Viktor of his fate and Yuri will also add Yuuri that Viktor's soulmate may get in the way of that. Which would trigger Viktor's rage but then Yuri would add because 'Yuuri would want this', this is why he ended things. And Viktor couldn't snap right there, he only has Yuri, Chris, Yakov, Makka and his mom. 

4. Yakov; Yakov was there for his full life, Viktor's mom is the one who demanded to teach Viktor as child to skate and so he did. His only business with Vitkor, in his beliefs, are because of his skill. Viktor thinks because Yakov is involved was because of skill and career/fate. Viktor also thought Yakov never cared for his life.

5.Mom; Viktor doesnt know how to face her. He just can't walk up to her and say, 'Hey, Mom! I lied to you for my entire life that I have no soulmate, no matter how hard you would like to meet my soulmate, I cannot give that to you. Okay? Okay!" 

"I-I saw a red string. Just now. Is YUURI ALIVE??" Viktor now brings up topic. He doesn't want to talk about help, not when he feels Yuuri is alive now. He has to be alive. Viktor is willing to do anything to make sure Yuuri is alive.

"Wha-what?!" Chris says confusingly.

"He has to be alive!" Viktor smiles.

"Do you...think so?" Chris feels unsure about this situation, but Viktor is now hyped that he might not be alone forever.

"I have to. For my sake." Viktor winks. 

'Viktor is getting over excited. This excitement may backfire on him. I WILL backfire on him. Viktor will feel alone again. I know it,' Chris worries. 

'I have to make sure Yuuri doesn't hurt Viktor again.'
