The second day at the island was even more chaotic than the first. For Luna, and even more so for the rest of the Fairy Tail members.

Everyone who was involved in the festivity the night before went back to sleep, or tried to, anyways. Nova and Rosemary couldn't, the guilt of leaving Sylvia with no supervision haunted them. They knew how she could get, why did they just leave her?

Gale was one who purposefully stayed awake, waiting for Caleb to come back. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep anyways, from what he found. Reiki joined him for a while, curious about what had happened. However, he got so tired he ended up going to sleep anyway.

Caleb never returned.

Nashi tried and tried to get some shuteye, but couldn't. Mika, who was supposedly her daughter was to come in two days. And as if that wasn't a shock, the fact that one of the twins showed up and Sylvia was nearly on her death bed was enough to give her nightmares.

As for the senior members, they were up investigating. Lucy was there in the start, but went to her daughter's tent to see what happened with Serenity.

When the sun rose behind the darkness of the clouds, the investigators met back at the campsite and started discussing the event.

"I looked at the site, and nothing," Jellal threw down some pictures of the scene with a white border, "not even blood." He said it with such exasperation, Erza wondered how long he'd been searching. They took small shifts, but Jellal was the one who lengthened his shifts purposefully.

"So we have no proof," Gray ran his fingers through his dark hair. He was getting frustrated. His daughter had just been stabbed in the back with no weapon, apparently, and Caleb went missing out of seemingly nowhere.

Wendy pursed her lips, thinking. It's possible that she could smell them out, but if they left no evidence at the scene, then it was unlikely that they'd leave a scent. She wasn't able to search the area, as she was with Sylvia making sure she was going to live.

"Unless..." Wendy whispered to herself, thinking out loud.

"Gale," Erza said aloud. She was considering the same thought as Wendy, "He was there when he got Sylvia... He could've smelled or heard something."

Gray nodded as he furrowed his brows,"I'm going to go ahead and check it out myself. If I can sense anything-"

Wendy stood up, "agreed. I'll go too, see if there's anything that'll put my abilities to use."

Gray showed he agreed by nodding his head.

"Very well," Jellal said before standing up from their criss cross position, he folded his arms, "Erza and I will see if Gale can remember anything else."

. . . . .

Wendy smelled the air in an attempt to find any other clues of who could've injured Sylvia and kidnapped Caleb. But just like she suspected, zilch. Absolutely nothing. The trees surrounded the two of them, and if there were signs of some sort of struggle, they were nowhere to be found.

Gray knelt down and let his hand hover over the snow, remembering when he felt the darkness from it the last time.

Nothing had changed about it.

He had already suspected that the cold was from his dead son, but without sightings and the demon twins walking around, he couldn't be sure.

Wendy sniffed the air and started to walk another direction, "hold on, I think I smell something. Its only a short ways away, I'll be back."

Gray hummed in response and stood from the ground. He looked around, attempting to find anything that could be useful. However, all he saw was snow and ice. They were combined to make a beautiful scenery, one that he wasn't fond of standing in.
