-----------------

The rest of your week had gone by slowly after Marcus had come to visit you, but you were glad it was finally Saturday cause you were looking forward to quality time with your cousin. Yesterday, you had received and owl from him saying to meet him in front of The Tree Broomsticks at 1:00, so that was where you were headed now, rather quickly because of the chilly November air.

"I wonder what he's been up to?" you think to yourself as you approach the pub, but your cousin was nowhere in sight. Instead, George Weasley took up the space in which Marcus was meant to occupy. You froze, hoping that maybe he didn't see you. You could just turn around now. Maybe Marcus made a mistake? Or he changed his mind last minute and wanted to meet at the Shrieking Shack instead? But before you could move, a heart-melting voice called out to you.
"Hey, (Y/N)! What are you doing here today?" George Weasley approached you and asked sweetly.
"Oh uhm...well I was meeting Marcus here, but he doesn't seem to be around. Have you seen him?" you ask, trying to be as cool and collected as possible. You couldn't make a fool of yourself now!
"No sorry," he answered sympathetically, "but have you seen Fred around? We were supposed to go to Zonko's today so we could continue wreaking havoc" He chortled.
A small smile creeped on your face. You couldn't help it, you just loved this kid, but you shook your head 'no'. You felt a little glum, however, because you were sure that was the end of the conversation and he'd be going off to find Fred.
"Uh...(Y/N)?" George began rather timidly, "would you like to go and get a Butterbeer with me?"
Almost as if someone flipped a switch, you sprang up with excitement. You could feel the butterflies well up in your stomach and you hoped to god that you wouldn't throw up.
"Y-Yeah I'd love that!" you answered, feeling warmth come to your cheeks.
A smile crept across George's face as well, as he lead you into the dimly lit pub.

"Where are they?" Marcus impatiently asked Fred.
"I'm sure they're coming any minute!" Fred answered in a hushed tone.
The odd duo sat at a table in a far corner of The Three Broomsticks, waiting for you and George to walk in together. They wanted to make sure this date would work and if anything went awry, they'd spring into action. And just for added measure, they had made sure to sit in a place where you wouldn't be able to see them as you entered. Couldn't blow their cover, could they?
"Look here they come!" Fred said excitedly, "Hurry! Put up your hood!"
Both Fred and Marcus put up the hoods on their cloaks, just in case you happened to look in the dusty corner, and began to watch you and George as you took a table on the other end of the room.
Marcus felt oddly happy seeing you with the Weasley twin. At first when he'd read your letter, he wasn't sure how to feel, but now he knew for whatever reasons, he wanted you two to be together.

"There are some interesting people here today," you say as George sits down next to you, carrying two Butterbeers. You were looking over in the corner at these two skulking hooded figures, and got the sinking feeling you were being watched.
"I probably wouldn't worry too much about it," George said reassuringly, "there tends to be at least a guaranteed two weirdos anytime I come here with my brother." He smiled at you as you snorted at his lame joke, almost inhaling your Butterbeer.
"That was a pretty lame joke, George" you say with a laugh.
"Yeah, but it served it's purpose!" George said, matter-of-factly, which made your smile stick to your face even longer than expected.

—————–

The rest of the day was almost like a dream. You laughed and joked and talked with George all over Hogsmeade, and you felt as if you were actually friends with him! You longed so much to even just be friends with him, because even if it was only as friends, you wanted him to be in your life.
"(Y/N)?" you heard George break the laughter as the two of you sat on the hill overlooking the Shrieking Shack.
"I was wondering if I could ask you something..."
You heart began to beat rapidly as a sudden fear crept into your throat. What could he want to ask?? Did Fred actually tell him about your feelings??
You looked up at him to show you were listening so he could continue. This day had been amazing, so even if he let you down easy now, you had these memories forever, right?
"I was wondering...if maybe you'd...want to come have Christmas at The Burrow? The Burrow is our house and we-" George began to explain rapidly all about how each Christmas, The Weasleys invite their friends and family to their house so they could all have a fun Christmas together. However, you heard none of the explanation because he had lost you at 'Christmas at the Burrow', as you were overcome with joy! George Weasley, your secret love, asked you to Christmas at his house with his friends and family! This was the best day ever!
"I mean, I understand if maybe you'd not want to, since we just recently became friends, and you probably have Christmas stuff planned with Marcus and all-"
You snapped back into reality, and quickly answered, "No of course I want to come! I'm sure Marcus will understand!" Your smile grew even larger as George began to smile himself, and you tried to hold back the tears of joy welling up behind your eyes. Let's not make a crying mess of this happy moment, shall we?
"Great!" George exclaimed, helping you up off the ground. "This Christmas is going to be fantastic!"
You silently agreed with him as the two of you started to walk back towards the castle, then you remembered something George had said. He called you 'friends'. Did he really see you as a friend?! But before you could think of a logical and inconspicuous way of asking, you blurted out
"Uhm, George? Are we really friends?" You immediately felt horrified, hoping that you didn't sound weird or rude.
"Well of course we, silly!" George answered with a smile, pulling you into a light hug, making your cheeks turn red.
"And that means that you don't have to be afraid to talk to me or ask me things, cause I'll always be there to listen." His warm brown eyes made your heart melt as he gazed into your (E/C) ones.
"I'm not even really sure why we hadn't talked much before, but I'm glad we will now!"
At that moment, another redhead came into view.
"Oi, George!" Fred called over, waving at his brother, "I've been looking everywhere for you, mate!"
George quickly smiled and said goodbye, before running off with his brother, and you let out a huge sigh.
You continued to walk towards the castle when you heard a familiar voice from behind you,
"(Y/N)! Where were you! I looked around Hogsmeade all day!" Marcus rushed up to walk with you, resting his arm on your shoulder.

He had a slight smirk across his lips as you recounted all that happened with George that day. He knew all too well what your day consisted of, seeing as he and Fred were lurking in the shadows not too far away. On more than one occasion, the duo had to shake Malfoy away and explain to him why he and Fred Weasley were hanging out together, and why Malfoy had been seeing you with George. In the end, Marcus had to end up telling Draco what was really going on, and told him that if he spoke a word of your crush on George, his life would be short lived. Although Malfoy was annoyed and confused, he accepted it seeing as you were his best friend, and left Marcus and Fred to do their spying.
"George asked me to stay with them for Christmas!" You excitedly told Marcus, as the two of you approached the huge doors to the castle.
"I'm excited for you!" He said, pulling you into a hug, "You'll have to write me an owl telling me all about it!"
You were a little sad watching your cousin leave and not having got to spend a day with him, but you were sure there'd be other cousin bonding days. You couldn't shake the happiness in you from your day out with George, and the joy you felt thinking about how great your Christmas at the Burrow was going to be.
