Hidden Away

Chapter 11

Matt's POV

Cameron came up too me and asked me too share a room with April so I could keep an eye on her. Cameron said he trusted me and Nash the most. I walked into April's room and she looked up from her phone.

"Hey" I said,

"Hi, you can put your things down over there" She replied, realising a slight smile.

April's POV

Matt walked into my room about 20 minutes ago and was still awkwardly stood there.

Cameron knocked on the door and said dinner was ready.

We walked downstairs and sat down at the table, Cameron had cooked Pasta with beef. (i dont know if that's a thing but 😂)

I walked upstairs and everyone else stayed in the kitchen.

I picked up my phone and looked at my contacts and decided to call my best friend, Melissa. She lived in New York and we hadn't spoken in ages. I assumed she had lost my number or got a new phone but I decided to call her anyways.

The phone rang and rang and after the 4th ring someone answered. It didn't sound like Melissa,

"Hello, is this Melissa?"

"I'm Melissa's mum, is this April?"

"Yes"

"I'm very sorry that you haven't been told but Melissa was involved in a car crash 3 months ago and didn't make it through"

"I have to go"

I put the phone down and walk around. Matt shouts me and I walk downstairs.

"Play Xbox with us" I sat down next to Taylor and watched them play.

I couldn't concentrate on the game as my mind was completely on Melissa.

I hadn't noticed that tears were streaming down my face. Cameron took me into the kitchen and sat me down on the counter.

"Why are you crying?"

"Because.. I ..I" I couldn't take it anymore I cried into Cameron's chest letting out all my emotions. Cameron hugged me tight and Taylor and Matt came in and hugged me too.

"Cameron?"

"Yes"

"Melissa's dead"

"I'm so sorry April"

He hugged me and drew small circles on my back with his fingers.
