Part six: growing family

"Stop!" Jungkook tried to get both the two-year olds to stop running around. They were making a mess. This wasn't what he wanted or planned to do today. He had so much to do and hadn't quite started.

He still had to go to the supermarket, make some payments, and a few other things which weren't accomplished this morning. His back ached and he was getting a headache due to his frustrations. Those frustrations came in the form of two toddlers who couldn't keep calm. All in all, he was tired and hungry.

"What's going on here?" Rose entered the house. Jungkook couldn't help but be somewhat relieved that she was home already. Rose understood the situation he was in. She understood as soon as she saw the twins running around naked and Jungkook trying to get them to stop.

He wasn't exactly chasing them. It was obvious it had been a long day for him. Rose grabbed one of the twins as fast as she could. This encouraged Jungkook to run to grab the other.

It didn't take long for him to grab the child. The children laughing and screaming. This wasn't out of the ordinary for the toddlers. The amount of energy and curiosity they had at this stage in life was normal. Jungkook questioned if Hoseok and Yoongi managed to sneak sweets. They had more energy than any toddler he had encountered. They were growing up and still learning about everything that surrounded them.

"What's with the noise?" Jin walked in. He had returned from his day at work.

The children continued to giggle while Jungkook felt exhausted. Jin looked at him and made his way to him. He took the child from Jungkook's arms and gave him a kiss. It was moments like this that Jungkook was reminded why he fell in love with Jin. The same reason for him never to fall out of love.

"Long day?" He questioned, while he nodded; not being able to form words without breaking into tears. It had been a stressful day to begin and the kids being too hyper made it crazier.

"They wouldn't listen. My own kids don't listen to me." He was about to tear up and he was trying hard not to. This was just hormones, he told himself.

"They listen. They're good kids." Jin encouraged. He caressed Jungkook hoping that the young man would find it soothing.

"You mean, they listen to you." Jungkook cried. "I hate you." He didn't mean it but he had a long day. It was Jin's fault he was feeling this way.

"I love you too," he said kissing his forehead. He gave a light pat to Jungkook's swollen tummy.

"I'll take care of the twins." Rose volunteered taking both twins in her arms. It was their shower and nap time. Jungkook needed some peace and Rose would try to ease some of his chores.

Rose had been helping Jungkook whenever she could with the children. She understood that it was difficult for Jungkook while being pregnant, taking care of the children, the house, and even planning the wedding that had been pushed back due to the surprise pregnancy.

Jin was over the moon when Jungkook gave him the news. He'd be a father again. Jin was happy that there would be a small being—product of their love. This family kept growing in size. It made the house feel full even when Rose was about to head to college soon and Jisoo still away. There would be miles between them and their two girls. And empty nest was far from them. They had other children to raise but they still wanted all of them at home.

Jungkook had been happy too. It wasn't only because it was hard with the twins but they hadn't talked about having more children. He always hoped for one more; it was something Jungkook had planned to talk about with Jin. The children grew up quickly. They were all about to head into different directions. For now, they only had four or five with Marie—children at home. Then they would add the one which was on its way.

"Let me help you. What needs to be done?" Jin volunteers while caressing his fiancé. Jungkook isn't willing to let go just yet. Jin doesn't mind at all. He liked to have Jungkook in his arms and tried his best to comfort the younger.

"I'm tired. I had so much to do, today. Groceries, planning, and actually try to see some things done. They're a handful." His conversation wasn't meant to lead into anything. It was just nice to get things off his chest.

"I'll go to the store and you take a nap. Then I'll go pick up Tae from soccer practice. Rose will be here and I'll tell her to make sure to keep an eye out for when Marie gets here. Sound okay?" Jungkook nodded. Was there really so much to do today?

"Alright, can you bring me caramel apples? The list is—"

"On the refrigerator. Go, I can do the rest." He lead Jungkook up the stairs. "Don't worry. We're here to help you. You don't have to try doing everything yourself."

"I know, it's just I used to be able to do it all. Now, I don't understand how I can't find the time," he yawned. Maybe...maybe—he was getting old?

"This time you're pregnant, have more children to take care of. They're younger and more energetic than anyone you'll ever meet. So, rest." He kissed Jungkook's forehead. Jungkook smiled and laid down.

"You're the best. The best boss, boyfriend, fiancé, father anyone could ask for." He was so sleepy that when his head touched the pillow he was fast asleep.

"I love you too." Jin kissed his lips.

Jin stepped out of the room making sure to close the door behind him. It was crazy how he could smile like an idiot whenever he thought about his family. How in all of these years they were finally back together and growing up, and the family was growing in numbers as well.

"Imagine, if you never met Jungkookie-appa. I don't think I could picture you being this happy with anyone else. Smiling like a creepy teenager." Rose said as she stood in the hallway with one of the boys in her arms.

"I think, he not only brought me happiness but to our whole family too. I can't believe he was your nanny once and now he's going to be my husband and father to my—our children." Jin corrected himself because clearly he wasn't the only parent. He couldn't help but admire Jungkook. There might be some who think that it's complicated but for them it didn't need to be. They loved each other and that was all there was to it.

"He was our father long before he gave you his heart. He's great." Rose smiled. "Our appa returned and he's not going anywhere." That was a promise that both, Rose and Jin, wanted to keep.

Nothing more needed to be said. They continued on with their tasks. The family was together no matter what. Each one helping, supporting, cheering each other. That's more than they could ask for or imagined.

Kookie returned but this time as Jungkook. The man who loved them as much as they loved him. There was love that encouraged and flourished between them. Never perfect but ever trying which was okay. It was in its own way perfect. Love isn't ever perfect but sometimes love is all you need to know there's always a medium. There's always ways to make love grow.

And just maybe this, so called, nanny sat down and wrote everything down. He never wanted to forget them, forget who he was and who he became. Forget those moments that made his heart yearn, ache, and even be filled with love. There's so much more that can't be explained in paper or words.

This was his family and he will always try to make them happy. Their happiness was his. And Kookie is married with seven children. One of which he sees only on weekends. Two little ones which are exploring, grabbing onto anything they can reach for. Two who are becoming adults and have to experience what it's like in the real world. The oldest learning more about life and learning about first loves. Four/five of them which are still growing up in their household—with his help and that of his husband.

This is the story of how he went from a young man known as Kookie to the man whose name changed to Jungkook Kim or known as Mister Kim. No longer Kookie to them but known as appa.

This is the story I had to write to never forget.
