" Ok class, if z= 7 and b= 9, what is z to the power of b divided by pi?" Mrs. Roberts asked
"8.99." Said me and my academic rival Tracy Weber. Me and her were friends but were always neck and neck for the best grades.
" Yes girls! Excellent job." Mrs. Roberts congratulated. " Ok class we have 5 more minutes so I will hand out grades and homework." A generous amount of moans came from the class. I felt a kick in the back of my chair. It was Evan. It was only first period and he was late so I didn't get a chance to talk to him.
" So which smarty will win today?" He joked.
" I don't know. I only studied for an hour the night before the test. So maybe her." I admitted.
"Same." He said. He was just about as smart as I was and he was in all my AP classes. That made him even cuter.
"Stop! "I told myself in my head. " You don't like him he is your best friend. You know what happened to Nancy and Rob. Don't to this to yourself."
Rob was another one of my good friends in our friend group. Our group was Nancy, Heather, Evan, Me , Rob, and occasionally Nick. We all had know each other for quite some time. In winter of 7th grade Nancy and Rob started getting flirty. We left for break and then they came back a couple. One day that summer though, things took a turn for the worse. They had a fight about who knows what and broke up. I myself liked Rob a lot as a friend and person in out group, but I had to follow girl code. Hoes before bros. I don't know what I would do if me and Evan were to have a falling out like that. He helps me understand what guys think and Nancy and Heather like him to.
" Ok class today's test went fairly well. There were no grades less than a C. Today's highest grade though was a 96% percent made by a very smart boy in this class. Tracy and I looked at each other shocked. We were in a competition, but we'd rather have one of us win than somebody else.
"Evan, come up and claim your homework pass! You had the highest score, 96%, followed by Tracy, Avery, Mike, and Angel with 95%. Great job guys! Oh and I will no be handing out homework. This shouldn't take your more than 20 minutes."
"Brrring!" The bell went
"Remember pi = 3.14!" Mrs. Roberts said as the class walked out. Honestly, who doesn't know what pi is?
The rest of the day was a drag as always. Lunch was great though. I got to talk to Evan like we were before this whole spin the bottle thing happened. When I got home I grabbed my honey mustard and onion pretzels, went up to my room, turned on my favorite show Psych, and started my homework. 10 minutes later I heard my phone ring. Evan.
"Jello?" I asked playfully
"Hey how's that math homework going?" He laughed
"Perfectly fine. Hows that 11 paragraph essay that's due tomorrow."
"Haha you know me so well."
" I know." That was flirting I thought. Totally flirting! Ugh I need to stop myself.
"Well I better get to that essay." He admitted
"Yeah haha talk to you later." I agreed
"Bye toad." He joked
"By fly." I joked back.
