"good morning, vinessa, how are you?" curtis asked in a monotone voice. he had decided to visit his sister and inform her of the news of harold's passing three days later. they were close friends during their childhood. much to curtis' jealousy.

"hello, curtis, come in" vinessa invited her older brother into her small apartment.

curtis had to duck under the short door frame of the apartment to enter. he looked around and noticed a slightly off-white envelope atop of vinessa's tabletop.

'i know that hand writing' curtis thought. 'it looks very familiar' he glanced again at the sealed document and saw a stamp and date in the top right corner.

'leningrad, russia' the stamp displayed. 'october 12th, 1939' yesterday's date. and then it clicked in curtis' mind. the handwriting. it was harold's.
