harold followed curtis home that night. he gathered himself and ran lines over in his head of what he would say to curtis. after hours of pacing just around the corner from curtis' house, he walked around the corner and knocked on his door.
curtis swung the door open and almost hit himself with it in the process. "what do you want?" curtis asked, he hiccuped and slurred as he talked and swayed slightly.
"a-are you drunk?" harold asked dumbfounded. he had never seen curtis drunk.
"why are you here?" curtis asked, avoiding the question. he attempted to stand up straight and fix his uniform. his army green shirt was crinkled and untucked and his tie was loose around his neck. he had ditched his heavy jacket by the couch when he opened his first bottle over an hour ago.
"curtis, i have a lot to explain. please..." harold begged "let me explain"
