17 years later
"Holy shit mom. I can't believe Republic City University wants to give me a scholarship for baseball !" Korren screamed at his mom.
Korren has attended South Water City Community College for the past two years. He's the been the star of headlines for his acceptional skills for the past 7 years. All his hard work practicing as the catcher paid off.
"I'm so proud of you honey. I know your father would be too" his mother, Senna, said happily.
Korrens father Tonraq passed away when he was 13 due to a car accident. He plays in honor of his father. Wearing #7 proudly. That was his fathers favorite number.
"I miss him mom, but I know he's watching over me, Taking care of me while I play the sport we love. I'm just so excited to be moving up. My hard work seems to be paying off." Korren said with tears in his eyes. His dad meant the world to him. He got Korren his first baseball glove when he was 6. From then on they practiced and played almost every day. Keeping that father son bond unbreakable.
"I know for a fact your father would want you to try your best, and keep working hard. He loved you very much Korren" Senna hugged him tightly. Savoring the moment with her son. Tomorrow he will be traveling across the United kingdom.
The next day
To say Republic City was big was an understatement. It was gigantic. After about an hour of driving around he finally found Republic City University. "damn mom. This place was hard to find." Korren was on the phone with his mom the entire time he was driving around. He didn't want her to spend money flying out. He wanted her to save it for when he was on break, or had a big game that she wouldn't want to miss.
Korren got out of his Jeep and stretched his limbs from such a long drive. "ugggggghhhhnnnnhhhh" he grunted while stretching. "man that was a long ass drive" he thought.
Korren started to unpack his stuff and walk towards his dorm. The campus was huge. There were so many people walking and laughing. He got overwhelmed really quickly and ran towards the office building.
He opens the main door and was in awe of how big the place was. "Hello my name is Mrs. Befong. How can I help you?" Korren jumped a little bit at the fact she was speaking to him.
Rubbing the back of his neck with his hand he said " hi.. I'm Korren. I just transferred here from South Water City CU. I don't know where to check in to find my dorm room."
"Ahhhhh no worries I can help you right here. Now what's your last name?" She spoke softly with a smile.
"Oh um Reyne. Korren Reyne." He smiled awkwardly. After a few moments she printed out his class schedule and his dorm information.
"Here you go! You will be in the Water wing room 308. You'll have a roommate. So be nice" she said with a smile.
"Thank you" Korren picked up his stuff and walked towards the building.
This was going to be a crazy year.
