I open all of the cabinets and drawers in the dreary kitchen, as I search for something to light my way, and something that I can use as a weapon or something I can make into one. With each cabinet and drawer, I open only to see that it's filled with mold and rotten food, or completely useless junk, my hope that I might find something useful diminishes. Finally, I open the last cabinet. It's large and looks ancient. It's stained oak and seems as if it belonged to someone centuries ago. I brace myself and open the cabinet. I look inside and find that it contains a hunting gun and a lamp, that's already filled with kerosene, and ready to go, along with a pack of matches, which I tuck into my pocket. I walk outside in the dark, and I grab one of the matches and strike it, once, twice, thrice, finally, it lights, and I hold it up to the wick of the candle in the lamp. The fire catches, and I shake the match, effectively putting it out. I drop it onto the ground and step on it for good measure.

I lift the lit lamp up, searching my surroundings for any sign of the children, or anything resembling one. I hear a child's laughter echoing through the forest, over and over again, almost like a recording.

"Hello?" I ask, nervous as I shift the lamp to better illuminate the ground before me and the trees in the forest. I look around, but still can't see anything as I walk around the cabin's premises. I shrug my shoulders, realizing that this is probably the stupidest thing I've ever done, and turn back to the house.

In front of me, I see a wisp and a coil of rope that seems to be hovering in the middle of the air. I fall to the ground backward in fear and drop the lamp. I frantically move my hand around in the dirt looking for the lamp, for any light to see what is happening. I feel something curl around my neck, and squeeze.

"Alissa!" I cry out. But it comes out as a wheeze, the rope cutting off my air supply. I pull at the rope half-heartedly but know that I won't make it.

Know that I love you, mom, dad, Liss, Lex, D, and Lo... I close my eyes, finally accepting my fate, and faint, and then there's nothing.

(A/N): Another short update... but still the mass update! Thank you guys!
