2. Rooftop

He could feel their hearts beating louder with each kiss that was shared between them. Zi Xuan couldn't decide whose heart beat louder. Was it his or Xia Yu Hao's? Or was it both their heart beats? All thoughts went out the window when Yu Hao took his lower lip between his teeth and gave it a light tug. He knew for sure that it was his heart that beat so erratically. He kissed Yu Hao back with all the ardor that he could muster. Yu Hao had a tight grip on one of his wrist against the door. He felt Yu Hao's other hand slowly reaching to palm his jawline. Angling his face a bit Yu Hao deepened the kiss.

Minutes later Xia Yu Hao let go of his lips gazing into those eyes behind black rimmed glasses. Both of them struggling to gulp as much air as they could. It was no doubt that the expression that Zi xuan saw on Yu Hao's face was mirrored on his face as well. Yu Hao let out a breathless laugh as he caressed his thumb across Zi Xuan's cheek. The look that was bestowed upon Zi xuan was one of adoration. He felt his insides melt to know that he was the subject of such adoration.

Few seconds passed as they gazed into each other's eyes. Yu Hao rubbed his nose with his own and planted a trail of small kisses along his cheeks and jawline until he reached his left ear and very slowly breathed, "I missed you!!!"

The bottom of his stomach fell when he heard Xia Yu Hao's words. Xia Yu Hao slowly released his wrist only to snake his hands around Zi Xuan's waist. He pulled him closer and with a mischievous glint in his eyes ducked his head for another kiss. Slowly at first and then gaining more passion. This time Zi xuan responded passionately, returning his kiss eagerly. He raised his left hand that was freed by Yu Hao earlier and traced his fingers into his hair. He tugged them lightly to pull him in for a deeper kiss. Yu hao didn't disappoint, he obliged eagerly. Both of them oblivious to the noise around them. Lost in each others embrace.

They stood at the edge with their backs rested against the terrace walls. Both silent, lost in their owns thoughts enjoying the afternoon sun on their faces. Eyes narrowed at the glinting sun, a hint of a smile playing across their lips. Xia Yu Hao turned, rested his elbows over the walls and crossed the fingers of both his hands together. He looked over at Zi Xuan and smiled to himself. That was some kiss. It was the exact kiss that he had dreamt about. Only the roles were reversed. He knew he had taken him by surprise but Zi xuan had reciprocated the kiss in full measure. Even though he knew it wasn't right he couldn't stop himself from tasting those lips. He knew he was as flushed as Zi xuan because of the kiss.

He felt embarrassed, how could he could be so bold? He felt like slapping himself for his stupidity. His thoughts were a nervous wreck. Even though it was a bit foolish on his part he had no idea how to break the ice after such a passionate kiss. What was Zi Xuan thinking about. How in the world could he? Idiot, he chided himself. This kiss was the same like the first. He had forced himself on Zi xuan. Wait a minute.... unlike the first this time, this time it was mutual. He consoled himself yes, that's right. This time it was mutual.

He gazed at the tall guy beside him, unable to decipher what was going around that head of his. Zi xuan could feel Yu Hao staring at him. "Will you stop staring, it feels awkward when you stare at me like that."

"Like what?" Yu Hao asked raising his shoulders.

"Those eyes, there's so much going on behind those eyes, feelings which I can't put a name to."

"I'm sorry!" Yu Hao exclaimed turning his face to gaze at the far end where the school property ended.

"What for?" Zi Xuan asked in confusion.

"For the kiss," He replied meeting the other guy's eyes. "I know you were taken by surprise. I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me. Maybe I missed you, that's why I couldn't control my happiness when I saw you. Anyway I shouldn't have forced myself upon you."

"Well I was taken aback, for sure..... but you don't have to be sorry for that. I had as much a part in it as you. It's not like it was gross or anything. In fact.....in fact I enjoyed it." On hearing this Yu Hao turned his head in surprise only to find Zi xuan blushing a beet red. Phew! what a relief. And here he was panicking needlessly.

What was with Yu Hao? Zi Xuan thought. One minute he was so passionately claiming that he had missed him, initiating knee jerking kisses and the next he was being so timid and unsure. He shook his head and turned himself to mirror Yu Hao's stance against the wall.

"What do we tell the others?" On seeing Zi Xuan's confusion, Yu Hao continued "I mean.....us......about us?" moving his index finger back and forth between them.

"Oh! I don't know," Zi Xuan replied back "what do you think?" Yu Hao shook his head indicating that he didn't have an answer to that question either.

Both turned their heads to look on ahead. A couple of minutes passed before Zi xuan said "let's just keep it between us." Although xia Yu Hao felt a bit hurt that Zi Xuan wanted to keep them a secret he didn't let it show on his face. He patiently waited for Zi Xuan's explanation which he knew would be coming forth very soon.

Zi xuan exhaled a gust of air through his mouth, "Don't get me wrong, it doesn't bother me that we are both guys, I'm not so narrow minded. I feel, love is beautiful and should be shared regardless of gender, caste or creed." he explained to Yu Hao with pleading eyes "it's just that my schedule is very busy right now, with schoolwork and managing the volleyball team. You are busy as well, I don't want unnecessary attention which will create stress for the both of us."

Xia Yu Hao pondered a bit on what Zi xuan had to say and it made a whole lot of sense to him now. The worry on his brows disappeared and he smiled at Zi xuan, "hao ba, no worries. I get your point and agree to what you said."

Zi Xuan nodded "let's just get to know each other more and see where our feelings go from there."

Yu Hao nodded and a playful smile crossed his lips. "So......."

"So what...."

"So....You enjoyed the kiss earlier." Xia Yu Hao stated rather than making it a question. He gave out a hearty laugh on seeing Zi Xuan's face turning red with embarrassment.

"I......I never.....I never said that." He denied getting more flustered.

"Ooh! is that so? Liar." Xia you Hao teased him. It was the first time he had seem the manager of the volleyball team so flustered. He looked cute.

"OK then, let me kiss you once more. We'll know if you enjoyed the kiss or not." He took a step towards the tall guy like a lion getting ready to pounce on his prey. Zi Xuan gulped at the look that was aimed at him. He knew that he would be kissed twice today if he didn't get out of here now. As Yu Hao took another step towards him, he was saved by the school bell. Heaving a sigh of relief he made a run for the door with xia you Hao hot on his trail.
