KEITH POV:
I woke up in a strange room filled with medical supplies and machines that looked completely out dated.Just as I groggily sat up, a man with a scar across his nose and a white on black floof of hair planted on his head walked in.
I immediately recognized him as Champion, he may have accidentally almost killed me.
I still had a grudge.
Keeping quiet and glaring at him, I noticed that there were others with him. A small girl/boy with brown hair and big glasses, a big brown skinned (not racist... I think) man wearing a yellow shirt and a goofy smile, a girl who looked... Altean! That can't be right! They went extinct thousands of decades ago (I use the human terms because they're easier). There was also one other person with them and as soon at they revealed them self, my heart skipped a beat.
The boy was tan and lanky, tall and skinny, and had the the brightest blue eyes I have ever seen.
But something felt off.
Champion cleared his throat.
"Ahem, my name is Shiro and let me inform you that you aren't in any danger at the moment. We just saw you flying the red lion and as soon as you passed out, Hunk here"
Shiro pointed to the man in yellow
"Grabbed your lion out of the air and saved you."
I nodded in understanding and bowed slightly to Hunk. He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
"I guess you're going to be a paladin of Voltron since you can pilot the red lion, so I might as well show you the castle."
Wait, we were in a castle? Cool! My mind floated off as I jumped off the table I had been laying on and followed after Shiro. I noticed the lanky boy I may or may not have a crush on was following us.After a little while of walking around and pointing out random things on the ship, we entered a huge room that was most likely the lobby, or maybe the rec room. Lance, Allura, and Shiro were already there and Shiro had probably just given them a stern talking to because their eyes were on the ground and their heads were bent down.
"Ah, Keith."
Shiro said when he noticed the three people walking in.
"So, did you think about being a paladin?"
I nodded. Shiro continued on with what he was saying
"If that's the case, then what's your answer?"
"I guess I can do it."
I said uncertainly. For some reason Shiro gave off this fatherly vibe making me feel small and insecure, so I kept tugging on my shirt and moving my hands.Shiros face became immediately relieved because of my answer.
"Everyone, we need to go free the black lion."
I stared blankly at Shiro then at the others.
"We need all the lions and paladins to unlock our final lion, the black lion."
Pidge, who introduced herself, thankfully explained. I understood and followed everyone out of the big room to a large hall with humongous sleek doors at the end of it. The door opened to reveal everyone's lions all staring at each of their paladins. Mine seemed to be slightly distracted by something.
There was a door behind the lions and it opened as soon as everyone entered the room. Behind the second pair of doors there was a lion that was bigger then everyone else's lions, including Hunks. At first, the lion stared at me, then moved with lightning fast speed. With amazing accuracy, the black lion twisted by the other lions and flew straight at me, swallowing me up. I was scared out of my mind, it was so random and so strange that I didn't know what to do at first.
I heard Red start to go after me and the other paladins yelling at the black lion to stop, but it kept going.I was put into a strange room that wasn't like the one on Red. It was colder, and darker, and lonelier.
I didn't want to be here anymore.
I wanted to die.
My thoughts filled more and more until I couldn't take it anymore. I tried to stand up but was pulled back down by a chain that was connecting me to the floor. When had that been put on me? I wondered. The lion seemed to had stopped but I couldn't tell where I was or if anyone knew where I was.
I once again felt alone, and hopeless. I couldn't see, hear, move, talk, or touch anything. It was horrible.
This room was messing with my mind. It was making me go insane, making me want to die.The room was telling me to die, just go and kill myself. It wasn't the room talking though, it was the lion.
That's right, I'm in the black lion, in a strange room, and I was inside a castle. Red (as I call my lion) and the other paladins were coming to get me, so all I had to do was wait. Just wait. Only wait.
Ugh! I can't do this. I can't stay still this long! That's the thing about me, whenever I'm told that I just need to stay, I have to leave immediately or else I'll go crazy. My heart beat faster, the room seemed to close in on me. The room was getting smaller, I knew that for sure. I couldn't breathe it was getting so small. My head was spinning and my hands moved to tying and untying my shoes over and over again. I needed something to do, I absolutely couldn't stand the dark, much less small places, and this room was both. I heard voices from the other side of the wall that I was leaning on.
"Keith!"
"Keith!"
"Keith"
Three separate voices were calling out my voice.
"I'm in here!"
I shouted back, hoping they would hear me. Luckily they did.
"Keith? How did you get in there?"
Pidge knocked on the wall and it suddenly opened up, making Pidge fall down. When they looked in the room they were scared. They saw me chained up next to several skeletons and blood splatters all over the room, even on the roof.
"...Keith..."
Pidge said in a small voice. My wounds had somehow reopened and blood was pouring out of all my newly formed cuts. I grinned,
"Thank god..."
And fainted. Someone picked me up and brought me back to the pods. In my half conscious state, I could hear gasps and someone pushing me into one of the pods I had seen earlier. They closed the door and suddenly I felt one hundred times worse.I screamed in pain, flickering between my half Galra and half Altean state. The door opened and I felt extremely woozy. I fell down and someone caught me.
"What's wrong with him?"
A voice said, though it was far off.
"I don't know, the data on the pod says that he's fully healed and doesn't need any repairs. It's really weird, the pod seems to be doing the exact opposite of what it's supposed to be doing and is actually making the pain and wounds worse. We can't use the pods."
I was about to die. I knew it. I've had this feeling before and I know that this time, I was really going to die. I couldn't be healed, my body didn't work like that. I am going to die.Cliffhanger lol! This chapter shorter then all the others because it's like four a.m and I'm really tired. So I'm just going to leave a huge cliffhanger for all you readers and make you wait for another few days before I decide to post again!lololololololololololol😂😂😂
