Clint Balmore's POV

2 days later..

"Carter status?"

"Sir our" he looked down at the ground. I already knew what was going on I cussed underneath my breath and was about to gather my troops for war. I then walked outside my office along with Rosie and was about to declare war

5 hours later

"In order to get to the eastern side as possible is going through here. Louisville city" I pointed at the spot in the map. "In 29 hours from now we will be heading out for hunting get everything ready". My soldiers saluted and headed out. I looked into Rose's eyes and said "we will survive"

"Yes general"

I have been teaching her to speak more properly the last 2 days.

Since I wasn't a hundred percent sure if I would make it I went to one of my best buddies, Zac "Hey Zac."

"Hey"

"I'm not sure if I will make it but, if I don't please take care of my Rosie"

"Don't talk like that. I'm sure you'll make it"

"Guess I'll be heading out shopping with Rose. I hope we'll both make it"

"Take care!" He waved and continued preparing I then held Rosie's hand and led the way we reached the front door and I called for Raven, the transporter

"Hey Raven"

"Sir?"

"Take us to Paddy's market"

"But sir aren't you-"

"Just go"

He nodded and I let Rose get in before me. After a few minutes we finally reached the public market and I asked "Rosie, what do you want?"

"What I want?"

"Yes"

"Ohh I'm not so sure what I'm supposed to have."

"Well is this your first time?"

"Um yes"

"Well since we're already here just choose something"

She looked around until her eye stopped at the ring that was coloured light blue-green

"You want this?"

"It's the same colour eyes."

"You sure?"

"Ok"

I put my hand in my pocket and got some paper bills, after I paid I told Rosie to turn around as I assisted her in putting her new ring on.

"Thank you general"

"Your welcome"

But in the distance a gun shot was set off and a bunch of screams could be heard I quickly gripped Rose's wrist and told her to hide behind these bins because I'm going after this criminal she nodded and hid. When I made sure she was safe enough I brought my gun and started running from where the gunshot was heard until I saw a man in a military suit but this time with a mask.

I pointed my gun at him but he seemed to notice so he tried to shoot me first. I quickly hid behind a fruit stall and checked my leg.

Dammit, I got shot already

I pointed my gun at him and pulled the trigger managing to only shoot him shoulder immediately dropping his knife, he then started sprinting at me because he knew I couldn't run so he starting firing multiple shots until I was at the point where I would get shot very soon. But in the distance I saw Rose running towards the man while holding a knife.

"No don't Rose!"

She looked at me but kept on running until she got close and the man noticed but she was quick and knocked the gun out of his hand she immediately used that chance to stab him where he was shot, which was his shoulder. He yelped in pain and Rose ran towards me.

"Don't ever do that again" I told her "it's too dangerous"

But she didn't listen and ripped a piece of cloth from the fruit stall and she tied in around my bleeding leg, but at that moment the sound of horses could be heard, it was my fellow comrades they carried me Inside the carriage and Rose jumped on the carriage and sat next to me

"Thanks Rose"

She nodded and looked outside. Several minutes passed and all eyes were on me, we reached the medical room and to my right I saw Zac and my Brother

"What happened to you?" Zac said

"Well I got shot, it's part of the job"

"We have a bloody war later we'll need you in good condition as fast as possible"

I looked at Rose's hands and noticed a few blood stains and the ring I bought,

"Rosie"

"Sir?"

Go wash your hands there's a toilet if you turn left and left again she nodded and went off. I was now in the medical station and they were about to remove the bullet from my leg

"Sir this will hurt, tell me when your ready" the doctor said

"I'm ready as ever"

I gripped the sides of the chair in pain

A few minutes passed and they managed to pull the bullet out and now here I hoping on one leg and my other arm around Zac's shoulder, we made our way to my office and I saw Rosie there with tea in her hands

"For me?" I asked

"Yes"

"Thank you"

But after one sip Raven opened the door

"Sir the man with the mask who assaulted you earlier"

"Yes what about him?"

"T-there's more it seems to me their trying to get to our base"

"Well tell the men to gather up it seems to me we strike early"

"Sir your leg"

"Well deal with it later"

"Yes sir"

And with that he rushed out.
