Point of View: Zora
-
It is now Friday, I finished my first week of school. Everyday we met up at the same place after school and did the same thing. I was bonding and finding some similarities between these people or at least learning some things about them. Here I am now back in the parking lot of our school again with my friends. "Hey, we should go out tonight and do something fun. I mean, we did just finish our last first week of high school." Leanne suggested.
"What do you have in mind?" Blane asked. "Well I was thinking something o going to the GPR, we haven't been there in forever and tonight they're having a teens night." Leanne responded.
"What's that?" I was clearly confused. "That's the place people go to play glow in the dark putt-putt and they also have the go karts there. Glow Putt & Race, we call it GPR for short." Kali told me.
This actually sounded like so much fun but I've never actually done something like this. "So who's in?" Leanne asked.
"Me!" Everyone shouted together. "Good," Leanne laughed. "Come with me Zora," Kali said and we headed to her car.
While I was in the car I decided to text my grandma.
Me: hi, grandma. I just wanted you to know that I'm going out with my friends and will be home late tonight.
Grandma: I'm so proud of you for finding new friends so quickly. I was scared you wouldn't put yourself out there.
I didn't want to talk about that with her so I just left the message on read. Apparently Kali and Blane drive themselves instead of taking the same vehicle. I turned on the radio.
Daniel Caesar come on. I always found his voice and music to be beautiful. Although he sung about love and that wasn't a topic that I fawned, there's something in his voice that's calming.
"I love this song!" Kali shouted. "Me too, his voice really is pure." I commented and Kali nodded.
"Just so you know this trip is about 15 minuets long, so why don't we get to know each other. Every time I ask you a question, you can ask me one. Agreed?" Kali asked me. "Why not," I said.
—Car conversation—
Kali: Okay so I'll start easy, where is your favorite get away spot?Me: That's always been the beach for me. There's nothing more relaxing.
Kali: Agreed.
Me: Are you from here?
Kali: No, I'm actually from Philadelphia, but my parents wanted a change of scenery and wanted to be far away from our extended family.
Me: Oh, we're actually pretty similar in a way.
Kali: What do you mean? Why are you here?
Me: The need to get away from my family.
Kali: Well as much as I want to know about that, we're here

We pulled into a small pretty parking lot. It probably had enough spots for 10 cars. Kali parked the car and we got out.
We went inside and found everyone else. "Hey lets go putting first." Blane suggested. "Why not, we would be saving the excitement for the end anyways, you know, me beating you every time." Cody smirked. "Oh not this time man." Blane replied.
We walked to the counter and there was a middle aged man. "Hi, Mr.Park! How are you and the wife?" Evelynn told the man with a big smile. He smiled back, "we're doing pretty good, but ya' know business isn't so good while you kids are in school."
