Chapter 12 The Mission

Erica's P.O.V.

"Erica" Zoe said trying to calm me down "He's going to be fine." She said this with a bit of worry in her voice also like she wasn't so sure. "How do you know?" I asked desperate for someone to blame this on "He decked me in one punch! How do you know if they will-" my voice broke suddenly and Zoe put an arm around my neck "Come on" she said supportively "For now we have to continue the mission without him." I heard a hint of sadness in her voice.

"Erica!" yelled Cyrus "Where were you?!" he suddenly saw the blood on my lips and shirt. "Who did this?!" he yelled angrily "An assassin took Ben" is all of the answer that I told him before I blacked out. 

I saw my grandpa sitting on the edge of the bed and my shirt was hung on a rack "Ahh!" I yelled and pulled the cover higher. "Your awake" said grandpa lightly "Who took off my shirt?" I questioned.

"Definitely not one of the boys." He assured me "If they did I would kill them." I calmed down a little. "Ben he was-" he put a finger on my lip. "I know Zoe told me. But still I can't believe he sent you flying across the room with just on punch." he considered something then said "not many people can do that." he said finally. "Can you." I asked didn't answer.

"We have to continue the mission without Ben." he said coldly "But grandpa! shouldn't we at least-" "NO!" he yelled "Ben's probably already dead!" he said I choked back a sob. I already lost Joshua to the dark side and I now didn't even know if Ben was alive.

"Ok" I said "Let's finish the mission of defeating SPYDER." I said with no emotion like Ben missing hadn't even happened at all. "That's my girl." said my grandfather with a weak smile. "What do we know about SPYDER so far?" I asked  "We're hacking their info right know but we have to get past all the firewalls and security" I thought about how easily Ben would have hacked into their mainframe with his math skills then pushed the idea aside. 

"The hacking process itself will take at least 3 days until we get to the information and it would take us at least a day to get prepared." He began walking towards the door. "Also" he added "You should probably get some sleep for tomorrow it's going to be a big day for you"

I thought about what Zoe said about me liking Ben, where Ben was and if he was alive, and about how we were going to defeat SPYDER" without Ben's help. THen I began to doze off and before I knew it I had fallen asleep.
