Chapter 20

Ben's P.O.V.

         I grabbed a gun and stepped outside and was suddenly shot by a tranquilizer dart. Boy this day could not get any better. 

"Ben!" Erica screamed "Put that down you don't know how to operate it!" For a moment I though she was going to say "careful!, or don't hurt yourself!" but it seems all I can end up with is a "You don't know how to operate that!" How nice

I saw one member of the team that was shooting at us and and shot the gun out of his hand. somewhat surprising the person. "You can aim?" screamed Mike a little high pitched for a boy his age. "Umm... yeah?" I said in a unsure tone.

Three more attackers came out from under the van "What the- how did you guys get there? I asked "Oh well it doesn't matter now because your gonna be destroyed anyways." I shot the guns out of their hands as well.

It seemed as though I had won, but suddenly they pulled out back up guns from their fanny packs. "Oh shiitake mushrooms." I sighed under my breath. As they aimed their guns at me I thought I was screwed until suddenly Erica's mom appeared out no where on a helicopter of course.

That alone was enough to keep the attackers from focusing on me and gave me a chance to shoot both of their hands so they would not be able to attack me or grab for another weapon to shoot me or anyone else.

Soon the fight was over and everything returned to normal, only if you consider 3 screaming people, a woman on a helicopter, and children armed to the teeth normal.

I quickly waved to Catherine, Erica's mom and hoped she would not shoot me. To my luck she recognized me, unlike some other people. *Cough everybody "HELLO BEN!!!" yelled Erica's mom "Hows it going?" "Ohh GREAT!" I yelled back, I was just shot a few times I thought to myself.

Then, the helicopter set down onto the ground and I saw who was driving it.

My dad.

"Dad?" I asked "That't not your dad" said Catherine frowning "Are you sure you are ok?" asked Catherine "I shook my head and saw that the person was a woman and asked myself If I was crazy.

"Never mind" I told her, "my bad" I said smiling hoping that she would take the bait that I was just joking. I think it worked a little to well. She stared at me and laughed.

She kept laughing and did not stop until she started snorting. "Help!" she cried gasping for air "something is choking me!" The woman piloting the helicopter quickly ran to help Erica's mom  unaware of the situation.

Then the Helicopter crashed.

"Mom!" screamed Erica

I saw the shock in Alexander and Cyrus' eyes as the helicopter fell from the sky and onto our van. There was a sickening explosion and then a eerie sound that hurt my ears and proably hurt every.
