The teenage girl was walking down the street at night and looked around at the city lights that surrounded her. She walked with both hands stuffed into her sweatshirt pockets. Her black hood was up and covered most of her face so people wouldn't pay that much attention to her or recognize her as the girl that was on the news for running away from home.

She felt her legs become tired so she stopped at an empty children's park and found a bench to sit down at. She sighed and felt her stomach start to growl, she ignored it and took out her journal and started drawing. She drew herself sitting at the edge of a cliff while looking up at the stars, but in the middle of drawing, she heard a crunching noise. She lifted her head in search of the sound but couldn't find it, she put her journal back into her bag and listened closely.

Crunch

She snapped her head at the sound and started walking towards it, it was coming from somewhere close by. She followed the sound to the other side of the park and found someone eating a bag of chips. She sighed in relief but then felt her stomach twist in a knot at the sight of food. She sighed in annoyance and walked up to the person eating alone with plastic bags surrounding him.

- The teenage girl walked towards the stranger, "Hey." She greeted blandly. The stranger froze before slowly looking up at her, She made eye contact with him. He had dark brown eyes, "Hi." He greeted back in a low voice. She glanced down at his bag of chips, "Can I have some?" She asked and pointed at the bag he held in his hand. The boy shrugged, "Uh, Sure." He replied. She sat next to him and he handed her the bag of potato chips, she grabbed a handful before handing them back to him. "What are you doing h-here?" The boy stuttered. "Depends. What are you doing here?" She asked as she munched on one of the salty chips. He paused for a moment and cleared his throat, "Lost." He replied. She looked at him but he wouldn't make eye contact with her again, he just kept staring at the ground lost in his thoughts. "Well, I'm running." She said. "Running? Where?" He asked, "Away from here." She said rather harshly. He stayed quiet in response and decided to just finish his bag of chips. "What's your name?" She suddenly asked out of the blue. The boy didn't answer immediately, "Toby." He almost whispered. Now the girl froze but only for a second before she looked up at the bright city buildings. "Um..W-What's yours?" He asked nervously. "(Y/n)." She said. "Nice name," Toby complemented. And for once in a long time, she smiled.

"Thanks."
