(Y/n) fluttered her eyes open. She looked around the bathroom, everything came back to her from last night. She lifted herself off the blue carpet where she fell asleep and sighed. She turned on the water from the shower and let the water hit her hand. She twisted the knob so the water was warmer and started stripping off her clothes before getting in the shower.

Thoughts of the twitching boy invaded her mind as she scrubbed her short hair with cucumber scented shampoo. The warm water tapped on her delicate skin rapidly as she remembered his smile, his dark eyes, his crazy hair. Her lips curved into a smile but turned into a frown when she remembered that he had left her.

Once she was done she put on a fresh pair of undergarments that she stole from the store and the purple hoodie and jeans. She dried her tangled hair and washed her face one last time before walking out of the bathroom. The room was empty, the lamp was still on and her backpack was gone. She looked around the lonely room and sighed, she needed to leave.

-It was raining hard so she pulled her hood over her face and started walking in the rain, occasionally she stepped into puddles getting the bottom of her pants wet and some water in her shoes. She continued walking but stopped in front of John's Pizza, the sign was glowing a red neon light that reflected off of her wet face. She walked inside and wiped her dripping sneakers on the entry carpet. She decided to head to the first booth that she last sat at but then stopped in her tracks mid-way.

Toby was sitting in the booth while staring at the menu in front of him, his head was down but she knew it was him from the peculiar hoodie she picked out for him. (Y/n) heart started pounding at a fast rate, she slowly walked over to him, trying not to present herself so quickly but her squeaky wet shoes gave away her position.

Toby looked up from the menu and looked at her, they both made eye contact and gulped. She slowly sat across from him and continued looking at him, parts of his hoodie were darkened due to it raining outside and his hair was straight and damp causing his brown eyes to be hidden behind a curtain of hair.

"Hey." She greeted him. "Hi." He greeted back just as quiet. The awkward tension started spreading in the air like a disease. "I'm sorry.." He said softly, "I just don't know what to do..." He said honestly. "Yeah, me too." She admitted and rested her hand on her cheek. He looked at her and smiled, she lightly smiled back. "Oh, I also brought you this.." Toby reached into his hoodie pocket and handed her a hand-picked rose, but it was dead. "Thanks." She said and sniffed the dead rose, surprisingly, it still smelled nice. "I know it's dead. I just couldn't find a live one." His face went pink as he looked to the side embarrassed. "It's okay, I actually like it." She said. She noticed his hand on the table and reached over to rest her hand on top of his. His eyes traveled to their hands and he intertwined their fingers together. She looked down at the floor as her heart started beating fast again.

In an ironic way.

They were both dead roses.
