(Y/n) woke up on Toby's shoulder. She rubbed her eyes and looked around at the empty bags of chips that were being blown around on the ground. The sky was cloudy and grey.

She stood up and felt something under her foot, it was an old hatchet with a wooden handle and was caked with ruby red blood. Her eyes widen and she looked back at Toby who had his head back and was sleeping peacefully on the bench.

Suddenly, she heard footsteps and chatting, she quickly whipped her head around and noticed two cops walking towards their direction. Her heart quickened its pace causing her to quickly zip open her backpack and fill her bag with the leftover plastic bags that still had drinks and food in them. In the middle of packing, she shook Toby's arms, "Toby." She whispered. He stirred around a bit, "We gotta go. Wake up!" He rubbed his red tired eyes, "What?" He asked, clearly annoyed. "We need to go." She repeated herself and swung her bag over her shoulder and stood up. Toby noticed her nervousness and sat up straight, "What? Why?" He asked. "Hey!" One of the police officers yelled. She looked at Toby, "That's why!" She yelled. Toby bolted up from his spot and picked up his hatchet from under the bench. "Let's go!" He said and started running ahead of (Y/n).

She quickly tried to keep up with him but he was as fast as an Olympic athlete. The cops chased after them from behind, (Y/n) didn't look back but she knew they were inches away from catching up to her. She forced herself to run faster and followed Toby into an alleyway.

They turned to a dead-end which made (Y/n) panic, Toby noticed her heavy breathing and put an index finger to his lips telling her to be quieter. She nodded and put a hand over her mouth to quiet her breathing. The footsteps got louder making them tense up but soon the footsteps became distant. Toby let out a sigh of relief, "That was close." He said. "Yeah."  Sweat was dripping down the side of her face. "So, you're running away from the cops too?" He asked and then twitched. "Yeah, I told you I was running away, didn't I?" She said. He scratched the back of his neck, "Y-Yeah, you're right. I guess I wasn't thinking." He said. "Of course I'm right, but why are YOU running? You said you were just lost." She knew who he was. He was Toby Erin Rogers, the boy all over the news, She just wanted to hear him admit to it. Toby sighed heavily, "I think the cops are gone." He ignored her and changed the subject. He started walking out of the alleyway, (Y/n) groaned and followed him, "Oh yeah, fine. Just totally ignore me, right?" She said with arms crossed and blood boiling.

She hated when people ignored her because that's what her dad and step-mom would do constantly. Toby, again, ignored her grumpy attitude while she continued to follow beside him. She pulled her hood over her head to draw less attention to herself, she looked over at Toby and realized how many people were staring at him. She rolled her eyes and pulled him into another alleyway. "Hey! What are you doing?" Toby asked while gripping his hatchet fearfully. "You're drawing too much attention to yourself, here, put your hatchet in my bag." She said and opened the leather bag for him. He furrowed his brows in suspiciousness making her roll her eyes again, "I'm not going to keep it." She reassured him. He finally gave in and put the hatchet into her bag. "Okay, now we need to change our appearances, people will soon recognize us if we don't." She said.

"So what do we do? We don't have any money." He twitched. (Y/n) didn't hear him because she was looking at the clothes store down the street from the alleyway they were in. She smirked and looked into Toby's onyx colored eyes, "Ever looted from a store?" She asked with a mischievous glint in her (e/c) eyes. Toby raised a sharp brow, "What?"

-The duo walked into the clothing store that was filled with a few customers that were occupying the owners of the store. Toby made sure to be the lookout as (Y/n) grabbed a bundle of clothes for each of them and stuffed them into her large charcoal-colored bag.

"Let's go." She whispered to him once she was done. He nodded and they both quickly started walking towards the exit. "Hey!" Someone shouted out to them, that was their cue to make a run for it.

They both sprinted out of the store and ran up the street, of course, Toby was running faster than (Y/n) but she was still close behind him. They soon stopped in front of a small diner once they thought they lost the person chasing them. They started breathing heavily, trying to catch their breath.

She smiled victoriously at Toby, "We did it!" She said, "Hell yeah!" Toby smiled and they both high-fived. She smiled at him before looking up at the diner they were in front of, a red neon colored sign that lit up, John's Pizza.
"Alright, let's go change inside." She said and walked into the diner with Toby following behind her.

The diner was a classic 50's style, the floors were checkered black and white, the booths and chairs were bright red, the walls were pasty white, and more neon bright lights hung from the walls in different colors.

(Y/n) noticed a brown colored jukebox with rainbow lights from the corner of her eye and smiled, she would have to check that out later. For now the duo headed to the Men's and Women's bathrooms that were across from each other, (Y/n) rummaged through her bag and gave him the clothes she randomly chose for him before walking into the women's bathroom and changing into her own clothes that she chose for herself.

She looked at her outfit in the mirror, she picked out a regular purple hoodie and black skinny jeans that had chains attached to the pockets. She sighed and stared at her appearance before looking straight into Toby's bag that held his hatchet, she looked around to make sure no one was in the bathroom before taking it out. She cleaned the weapon before checking if it was sharp enough to cut her finger.

Then she used it to cut her hair that was in a ponytail making her hair now short enough that it reached the middle of her neck. She picked up the hair on the floor and threw her hair and old clothes away into the garbage can, she put the hatchet back into her backpack and walked out of the bathroom.

She found Toby waiting at a booth for her, he stood up when he noticed her walk out of the bathroom. "Finally, it's about time." He said immpatiently.

She looked up and down at the odd clothes that she picked out for him, a brown hoodie with stripes that had a blue hood attached to it along with navy blue skinny jeans. He actually looked pretty decent.

"Looking better, but you should consider cutting your hair too." She suggested. He chuckled like she told a good joke, "No way, I'm good." He said as he shoved his hands into his jean pockets. (Y/n) sighed and took a seat at the booth, "Whatever, we need a place to stay for the night because I'm not sleeping on those stupid park benches again." She said as she cracked her aching neck. "Fair enough, how about a hotel?" Toby suggested and sat across from her. She pulled out the dollar bills from her pocket and started counting, "Alright, and that still leaves money left over. Want to order a Pizza?" She asked with a smile. Toby turned to her and smiled back,

"Hell yeah."
