"News of the seventeen-year-old (Y/n) (L/n) was found last night at a restaurant with the dangerous killer known as Toby Rogers, no one has any idea of what they were doing that night or what their intentions were. Toby Rogers is now in Sacred Heart Hospital after being brutally beaten by a police officer, Toby will be put behind bars after his recovery."

(Y/n) heard the TV talk from outside her cell. She sat on a cold metal bench in the small cell that she's been in for a day now. Her eyes were still red from crying and her throat was sore causing her to lose her voice. Her pale face was stained with tears and her runny nose was red. She rubbed her arms that were still bruised from the event that happened in the restaurant that night.

She reached into her pocket and pulled out one of the many dead rose petals that belonged to the flower that Toby gave her.

Soon a tall white officer walked over to her cell and gave her a cold look before taking out a rack of keys from his belt and unlocking the door. She sat there confused until her stepmom walked into her view. "You're free to go." The officer said in rough voice before walking away uninterested. (Y/n) rolled her eyes and stood up as her stepmom walked over to her and hugged her saying things like "What the hell were you doing?" and "Don't ever do that again." But (Y/n) didn't care, she was emotional less, she was empty, so she didn't hug back. Her stepmom took a step back to look at (Y/n), "You're grounded when we get home. Now, let's go." She said and grabbed her arm but (Y/n) yanked away from her grip, "No." (Y/n) whispered, "I'm not going back there." Her voice sounded even weaker than before.

Her stepmom stood there for a bit and then laughed loudly, "Don't tell me that you actually liked that boy? He could've killed you!" She shouted at her. "You're one to talk when you're dating a true monster yourself, you whore." (Y/n) tried to yell but it came out as a low whisper. Then her stepmom slapped her hard across the face leaving a red handprint on her cheek. "We're going home. Now." She ordered.

(Y/n) didn't say anything and instead ran out of that police station and she ran as fast as Toby had when they first met and ran away from the cops, and when they went down that street together on that rainy night with smiles on their faces. Those memories clouded her mind causing her eyes to blur with tears. She sloppily attempted to wipe her eyes with her purple hoodie sleeve to make her vision clearer but the tears kept pouring down her face.

She continued running, taking twists and turns down the streets, all she has ever done in her life was run, she ran away from everyone, she ran away from problems, but she never managed to escape them.

- She kept going until she ran past a building. She slowed down her running and stopped, she jogged back to the building she passed and looked up at the sign, Sacred Heart Hospital.
She rubbed her red eyes making sure she read it correctly before bolting through the glass hospital doors and to the front desk.

A black-haired lady with dark skin was typing away from her computer. (Y/n) tried clearing her throat, "Excuse me, do you know what room Toby Rogers is staying in?" She asked. "Can I get a middle name?" The lady asked without her green eyes leaving the screen. "Um, Toby Erin Rogers," (Y/n) said. "Toby Erin Rogers.." The lady repeated as she continued typing away, "That's room one forty-seven, can I ask who's visiting." The lady looked up but no one was there.

- (Y/n) was running down the white hospital hallways, her chest was rising and falling rapidly. The memories of them hanging out were coming back to her, the laughing, the smiling, the kiss. It all angered her, "Toby!" She screamed down the hall.

Her legs were becoming sore from running but she forced herself to keep going. 110, 170, 120, She counted in her head. 127, 135, 142, 147...

She stopped at the wooden door that looked like all the other hospital doors. Her breathing slowed down, her hand was shaking when she placed it on the cold silver handle. 3, 2, She swung the door open and her angered face went soft.
1.

- She took a step into the dimly lit room and closed the door behind her as soft as she could. (Y/n) slowly walked over to the white hospital bed that Toby laid stiff in, his chocolate hair was messy and covered his shut eyes, tubes were injected into his nose and needles were stabbed into his veins.

A part of his mouth was bandaged along with the right side of his cheek, his breathing was slow and steady as the monitor beeped.

(Y/n) kneeled down next to his bed and cried into her hands, "I'm so sorry, Toby. Toby.." She cried. She was shaking uncontrollably like a leaf, her whole body was weak and she could barely breathe as she choked on her cry's.

But her body soon went tense as she felt a gentle hand rubbing her shoulder soothingly.
She looked up at Toby weakly smiling at her, "Hey.." He greeted. Was her mind playing tricks on her? Was he really okay? She slowly lifted her hand against his bandaged cheek, "Toby?" She smiled happily and stood up. "I can't believe it! You're awake! You're okay! This is amazing! I've missed you so much!" She blabbered on and on. Her friend, her partner, her boyfriend... was okay! And her heart was filled with pure joy just knowing that she could be with him. But instead of receiving a loving glance or a heartwarming smile. Toby chuckled awkwardly, "Yeah. Who are you?" He asked.

- The whole room had stopped at the sound of those four words. Even (Y/n)'s heart stopped and her smile faded, "W-What?" She asked. "Do I.. Do I know you?" Toby asked. (Y/n) laughed, "No... No, this isn't funny! Do you really not know who I am?!" (Y/n) yelled making Toby's eyes widen. "Woah, calm down!" He said frightened. (Y/n) rubbed her head, "I must be fucking losing my mind." She said to herself. "Um. Nurse!" Toby yelled and pressed a button on a controller making a nurse come rushing into the room, the nurse grabbed (Y/n) by her arm, "Wait! No, I know him! Let go of me!" She yelled at the nurse but she continued dragging her out the room.

- Toby sighed in relief once that crazy girl had left his room. He ran a few fingers through his hair, why did she look so familiar? He noticed something on the floor, red petals. But the petals were wilted. Dead rose petals, he suddenly got a flashback of him giving someone a dead rose, but he didn't remember who. Was it... Was it her? No.. It couldn't be.. Toby laid back on his bed and shut his eyes close, "(Y/n)..." He mumbled before falling into a deep sleep.

- (Y/n) was heartbroken when the nurse made her sit in the waiting room. Toby forgot all about her, he doesn't remember her, she doesn't exist to him. What was the point in talking to him again? What was the point in living anymore? Her thoughts were interrupted when the nurse walked up to her, "You'll have to wait here for awhile until we can get someone to contact your parents, okay?" The nurse said with a smile. So that's what she did. She waited until sundown until her stepmom picked her up with her arms crossed, "Are you going to run away again?" She asked but (Y/n) didn't say anything. They both entered the black Mercedes that her father owned and she stared out the passenger seat window. (Y/n) looked up at the orange sky.

The same orange sky from the day that she ran away.
