~Peggy Shippen's  POV~
My dearest friend seemed so distressed about her wedding to a British officer. Sasha was a wonderful lady she's more ladylike than I am really but I was writing a letter to Major Andre about when we should see each other again, so then as such Sasha and I decided to go out for a walk.
She's here for a few days to take a breather from Setauket, I recently just discovered the waltz and I knew that Sasha knew how to dance to the Waltz.
Suddenly, I hear the most beautiful song sang by my best friend.
~Sasha Woodhull's POV ~
I waited for Peggy to finish delivering her letter to the post office when I started singing a song on the streets. While Peggy went to do some shopping I was in the streets enjoying the sun with people passing by I sang a song that I sing when I'm alone.
Sasha:
I've been staring at the edge of the water
'Long as I can remember, never really knowing why
I wish I could be the perfect daughter
But I come back to the water, no matter how hard I try
Every turn I take, every trail I track
Every path I make, every road leads back
To the place I know, where I cannot go
Where I long to be
See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me
And no one knows, how far it goes
If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me
One day I'll know, if I go there's just no telling how far I'll go
Oh oh oh, oh, oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh
Oh oh oh, oh, oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh
I know, everybody on this island seems so happy on this island
Everything is by design
I know, everybody on this island has a role on this island
So maybe I can roll with mine
I can lead with pride, I can make us strong
I'll be satisfied if I play along
But the voice inside sings a different song
What is wrong with me?
See the light as it shines on the sea? It's blinding
But no one knows, how deep it goes
And it seems like it's calling out to me, so come find me
And let me know, what's beyond that line, will I cross that line?
See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me
And no one knows, how far it goes
If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me
One day I'll know, how far I'll go
What more could lie in store for me with this war going on.
