"Mr Malik?"

Zayn stood up quickly at the mention of his name, and regretted it immediately as his head became dizzy.

"Take a seat Mr Malik..." the doctor said, ushering him down.

"Payne. Mr Malik-Payne." Zayn replied, holding his head in hands to stop the room from spinning.

"Mr Malik-Payne. You've suffered a head injury so will experience some motion sickness for a few days, but you should recover soon." The doctor proceeded to explain, flicking through the clipboard he held in his hand.

"What about Liam?" Zayn asked, a tone of desperation to his voice.

"Liam?"

"Yes Liam. My husband Liam. The fucking man I came into the hospital with who was on a fucking stretcher. That Liam!" Zayn shouted, rising from his seat.

"Mr Malik-Payne, if you could please take a seat..." the doctor replied, waiting for Zayn to take his seat again, "Sir, I'm sorry to inform you... but Liam didn't make it..."

Suddenly Zayn jumped up and pinned the doctor against the wall, pushing aside his terrible migraine.

"Don't you fucking dare say that. Why would you tell me that? I was on the way to my wedding reception, I'm stood here in my tuxedo waiting for my husband to come back so we can go celebrate our marriage! Now where the fuck is Liam?" Zayn screamed, his eyes dark with anger.

"Mr Malik, if you could let me go..." the doctor squeezed out.

"Mr Malik-Payne! I told you, Mr Malik-Payne!"

"Sir, Mr Malik-Payne, I'm so sorry but your husband suffered a terrible head injury, far worse than yours and there was nothing we could do." The doctor explained as much as he could under Zayn's grip.

"Don't fucking lie to me!" Zayn sobbed as he released his grip and dropped to the floor. He sat on the floor in a heap, his sobs coming quick and fast.

"Liam is okay. Liam is fine..." Zayn repeated, hardly able to speak between the sobs.

"Sir, I'm so sorry." the doctor said one last time before slowly walking away, leaving Zayn on his own.

"Forever and always Liam, you promised..." Zayn sobbed, curled up on the hospital corridor as his whole world shattered to pieces.
