He Jin stayed in his prototype form during this whole time, so as long as Fire used the "follow" command, he didn't really need to do anything. While on land, he would automatically trail after Fire, and once they entered flying state, the system would place him on Fire's arm by default, and he would end up hanging on him like a flying mouse.
