Dear Diary,
Today Simon died.
I don't even understand how mundanes die so easily. He's barely known about this world for approximately 2 seconds and he's already been bitten by a vampire and DIED?
Lydia and I went on an mission today (one that was actually sanctioned by the Clave) and she kept talking to me about how 'girls in Idris must be clamouring to meet me'. I think I threw up in my mouth a bit but anyway. She kept warning me of the dangers of falling in love and how terrible it is.
I was asking for a sign. Maybe this is it.
It doesn't matter anyway, because I proposed to Lydia.
I had to. I had to protect my family and the Institute. I had to follow my head, not my heart.
