I sat on my bed, flicking through my phone waiting to get the text Molly and Kate were here. I looked at myself in the mirror. My appropriate attire for the airport was my oversized smiths shirt, a burgundy bralette and plain black leggings with some old converse. I'd packed a pair of denim shorts in my hand luggage to change into once we got off the plane because I knew how hot it'd be. My hair was up in a slick back pony tail with my bangs hanging blunt on my face; I wore a light minimal makeup just to hide my bags and keep my face matte. I completed the look with my satin jacket. I did one final check of my suitcase and bags, making sure every vital bit of clothing was there before getting a text:

I'm here b x

I wheeled my suitcase out into the hallway where Mum and dad were already waiting.

"See you soon Mum, bye dad," I hugged and kissed them both before heading down the driveway to Katies waiting car.

"Thanks again Mrs. Ramos!" My Mum shouted down the drive.

"No problema!" Mrs Ramos replied, her smile bright as usual.

It was 3am on the 30th of July aka, Bethlehem day. We drove to Ridgeway college with our suitcases piled high in the boot. We were all exhausted but at the same time beyond excited for this trip. 10 days out of the country, with almost complete control of what we decided to do with our time. Bliss.

When we arrived at the college, only the front reception of it was lit up, i could see silhouettes of people inside. A sudden burst of anxiety and fear over came me as I slipped my kanken over my back and grabbed my suitcase from the boot. This would be my first time abroad in years, not even to mention without parents.

"I'm so not ready for this," I said to Molly and Katie as I waited for them to grab their bags.

"Me either," Katie said. "I hope there's at least some pretty boys to look at. But knowing our luck there won't be,"

"Hey! Remember what I said though katie, any indie lads are instantly mine. But if I don't like them, you can have them," I winked at her and they both laughed. As we approached the school, I let Molly walk in front since she was way more confident than us both.

"Hey, I'm Molly," she said introducing herself to the most formally dressed adult in the room. "Do we sign in somewhere or?.."

"Yeah, Ughhhhh... here," the man grabbed the clipboard that was sat on the top of the reception desk and handed it to Molly. She signed us all in as I glanced around the room to see who I'd be spending the next ten days of my life with. Not too bad,, a couple of characters. People who I knew I'd instantly hate, people who I could tell would end up dropping history by the end of the term and were just here for the trip, people who I knew would make the trip instantly more entertaining. And of course there was the soft shy boys in the corner, perched on their suitcases, peering back at us behind their hoodie sleeves. I caught the eye of one, his hazel eyes met mine for a couple seconds. I smiled and saw him smile back.

We went and sat with the two other people from our college before it was finally time to split into our groups. These would be the groups we'd be staying in for most of the trip. If we were to get lost, we'd call one of these people. We had to stay with each other at all times. I stood next to my suitcase, zoned out and waiting for my name to be called.

"Over here, in mr Franco's group we have: Declan mckenna, Charlie Palmer, Joseph King, Cassie Bates,Katie Ramos and Molly Curtis" the shy group of boys from the corner of the room stood up and walked towards our group leader, who's name we soon learnt was Steve.
