To my surprise, Dec quickly replied

Declan 💿
Yeah, it's too hot to sleep.
You just woke up?

Cass 🤙🏻
Yeah and I'm fucking starving?
Come meet me? Go for a walk and get some food?

Declan 💿
Of course, meet you by the elevator in five.

I rushed out of bed as quietly as I could and changed into some leggings and a vest top. It would be cool outside but I still didn't want to sweat. I slipped on my gazelles and loosely tied them before grabbing my purse and phone from my drawstring bag and heading towards the elevator.

Dec's slender figure was already waiting at the lift door, dressed in similar attire to mine, when I arrived. His eyes looked tired and his skin was pale despite the fact we'd been outside all day. "Hey," He whispered to me as I approached. I mouthed back 'hey' as I really didn't wanna wake anyone up, so waited to talk when we got in the elevator.

"So where'd you wanna go?" He asked me once the steel doors to the elevator had closed. I rubbed my eyes and adjusted to the overpowering lights as best as I could and yawned,

"Uhhh there's a shop down the road that sells sweets and drinks. I just need some sugar. We can have a wander and try to find somewhere nice to sit,"

"Sounds a plan," he said to me. The doors to the hotel lobby floor opened revealing a basically desolate room. The only thing lighting it up was the receptionist at the desk in the corner. The lights on the desk lit up the rest of the room as she granted us access out of the ready locked doors. We scored quickly through the lobby in silence and a little bit of awkwardness. There was a refreshing breeze blowing onto my face which was calming and relaxing.

After a little while of walking, we came to the small 24 hour corner store. I walked inside to find the man half asleep leaning on his hand at the counter. The lights gave off a blue tint which made the store seem mysterious. It was cold in there, I could feel myself automatically trying to warm myself up by wrapping my arms around my front. I quickly picked out some milka chocolate and I strawberry smoothie for me and let Declan treat himself to some starbursts and an energy drink. I approached the cashier smiling and trying to be as positive as I could, but he was just as tired as declan, trying his hardest to stay awake. "Hope you two aren't doing anything too naughty," he said jokingly as I handed him over the money. We both shook our heads, "no we just needed a sugar fix, were both exhausted," Declan laughed in response.

"Well have a lovely night," his accent was thick and he smiled teethily and brightly, it made us both smile in return.

Me and Dec walked to a small river about a twenty minute walk away from the hotel, it was pebbled and covered in pretty flowers and dotted with trees. I lay down on my back and stared up at the stars, Declan did too, and for a minute or two, we didn't talk. We just listened to the waters current swiftly moving a long and the croaks of the exotic wildlife all around us. But the lack of noise was too much, I needed to make conversation.

"Do you want your stuff?" Dec nodded in reply and we both sat up and faced each other. I tipped the contents of my bag out onto the pebbles and Declan instantly grabbed for his drink. He took a long gulp from the bottle and shook himself awake.

"Who took me to bed last night? I can't even remember how I got to the hotel room," I said popping a few sweets in my mouth.

"We tried waking you like five times but you were so out of it we decided just to carry you to your room. Joe had you over his shoulder and I still don't know how you managed to sleep through it to be honest," he giggled and loaded up a photo on his phone. My body was limp over joes back and even my arms were fully stretched out. I buried my burning hot blushed cheeks into my hands,
