Flashback:
It was a sunny spring afternoon. I was 6 years old an adventurous. I decided to adventure away from the safety of my home. I had tried to climb a tree. When I was gazing from out of the tree I felt like I was a giant. I felt like I could see the whole world. I loved feeling the wind blow onto my face and hearing it through the tree making the leaves rattle. It was like my favorite song. I wanted to climb higher but as I put my foot on the the next branch it slipped causing me to fall down. I tried to catch my self but failed miserably. A sharp branch penetrated my skin and scraped down my arm causing me to wince at the sharpness of the pain.
Blood was dripping down my arm. It stung so much and felt so warm as the blood pooled. My eyes started to get blurry from the tears filling up my eyes but then broke free and started roll down my face. My arm started to go numb. A little boy about a year or two older than me came out of nowhere and rushed to my side. His eyes sparkly brown eyes filled with concern. His hair was brown and messy on top of his head. He took his jacket off to help soak up the crimson blood spilling out of the gaping gash on my arm. He held it tightly on my arm and glanced at me.
"Hold this tightly on your arm, please. You're losing a lot of blood. I have to leave to go get help" he spoke quietly. I shake my head yes. I didn't think I could make out words. I did what the little boy said and held it firmly. The feeling came back as a very sharp pain. I clinched my jaw and squeezed my eyes shut from the pain. He ran to an older woman near by and told her to about my situation. She stared over in fear locking her eyes on me. She quickly pulled her phone out of her pocket and started dialing a number. She kept talking to the little boy but it wasn't audible. The little boy came back to my side as the woman was on the phone.
"Everything is going to be okay. The woman over there called to get an ambulance for you." He said with a reassuring smile. He took my hand off the jacket and replaced it with his so he was applying pressure once again. He still smiled at me to make sure I was distracted. He sat by my side until the ambulance came and took me to the hospital. I saw him next to me and smiled as they took me into the ambulance and that was the last time I ever saw him.
At the hospital, I ended up getting many stitches to repair the damage the branch had done. They called my parents right when I got there and they had fear plastered on their face when they saw me. I still have a big scar on my arm from the incident. I also got a talk after I got back home. My parents were furious that I slipped away out of the house.
If it wasn't for that kid I don't know what would have happened to me. I wish I knew the little boy was so I could thank him.
