The next morning, Draco had carried on like he normally did, completely forgetting that Harry was awaiting his response. He might of remembered, had Shadow not gone back to the owlery for her dinner (which had consistent of freshly caught field mice Finch had brought up, that had been unlucky enough to wonder into the castle).

Two days later, Shadow decided to visit her owner, finding it strange that he had not called her to send another letter, like had been consistent a few days prior. Of course, Harry had come to the worst conclusions and possibilities in this amount of time, so when he finally caught sight of the gorgeous black and brown owl in flight, heading towards him, he found himself close to tears.

  'My Dearest, Harry,

I'm so sorry, I didn't realize that Shadow had flown off after I fell asleep and I completely forgot to reply. She just showed up about an hour ago and I had to write you. Please forgive me.

First off, yes, we are in the same year. I was afraid to say so at first but I couldn't directly lie to you after you figured it out yourself.

Who? I don't mean to pry but you've sparked my interest.

Harry. You're perfect. I hate to see you put yourself down like that. It wasn't your fault that you were raised but muggles so stop blaming yourself. It's not your fault, it's solely Voldemort's.

And don't worry about me, I got plenty of sleep. I'm used to staying up until quite late. Besides, I was just too eager to reply that I ended up falling asleep in the middle of writing, but that doesn't bother me.

And, if you want I can replace those treats. I know how expensive they can get.

      D.'

Harry was crying by the end, and was thankful that he decided to read this in his desolate corner of the library, that he had found no one ever went to in second year. He never told anyone about it, not even Ron and Hermione.

Harry was, shocked, to say the least, that his secret admirer had left an initial at the end instead of her usual vague sign off. That's when the Golden Boy started to put the puzzle pieces together in his mind.

-in Slytherin

-same year

-has a 'D' initial

-and might not be a girl as he first predicted.

With this in mind he started writing back.

A/N  I swear I haven't giving up on this. I've been a bit busy on a different account ^^' but hey! First hapter of 2018 :D Also, props to anyone who can spot this hapter's reference!
