The Letters // Drarry

  It was the next morning when Harry received another letter. It had come in with the rest of the mail and Harry had excused himself from the table. Hermione gave him a confused look but Ron just nodded as he stuffed some more chicken down his throat. Once Harry had left the Great Hall Ron said "It's probably a howler." and Hermione just took this as a good enough answer.

  Harry was in the hallway trying to figure out somewhere he could read the letter in private. He had already ruled out the Gryffindor common room seeing as how, even though it was breakfast, it was probably packed. Eventually he decided on moaning Myrtle's bathroom, since no one ever goes in there and Myrtle probably wanted some company.

  When he arrived Myrtle was not anywhere to be found but that was fine with Harry, it just meant he had privacy to read the letter from the girl he was quickly becoming friends with. He was just breaking the wax seal when an owl flew through the open door, startling him. Harry quickly realized it was Shadow. She had followed him. Shadow gracefully landed on his head and climbed down to his shoulder, perching there. Harry chuckled and pet her then got back to the task at hand.

    'Dear Harry,

   You're joking, right? There's no way you would have been in Slytherin!! If you were in Slytherin.. maybe we would have been friends... I probably would have realized this silly crush sooner.

  What were you going to say? I just realized that you had written something down but you scribbled it out.

  Well, as you've probably already figured out since I'm in Slytherin, a pure-blood Slytherin (I hope that didn't give me away). My father would never approve of you, a half-blood. He probably would disown me if he saw me looking at you the wrong way...'

Harry noted the slightly smudged parts of the ink. She probably fell asleep while writing.. I hope she got enough sleep.

  'Make sure you do that. I kind of promised her...

  Sighed,
           Your Secret Admirer'

  Harry realize that he currently didn't have any owl treats for Shadow on hand so he made for Gryffindor Tower to get her same and to start on his response.
