Valerie's POV
It's raining, and it's cold. I would of called Chris for a ride, but my phone died a few hours ago. If I knew I was going to walk out into a hurricane I wouldn't have left with just Cameron's shirt and jeans. I am dripping wet, and I might be extremely a little lost, I don't even know what time it is but I know that school was over. I was walking on the side of the road, and not a single car has passed in hours. The strong winds were tripping me every now and then but I manage to keep my balance.
I feel the wind trip me again and this time I really fall. But this time when I fell my knee burned. I looked at it only to see that I cut my leg, it looked really bad.
"aw, shit" i mumble to myself. I hurt to move it. There is blood everywhere. I didn't move, I just sat there for a few minutes in pain trying to get the energy to get up. I see a bright light slowly get closer to me but I didn't react, and it took a bit for me to realize that it was headlights for a car. The car stops and a man walks out. It takes me a while to see that the man is. . . .Cameron? He picks me up bridal style and and places me in the car. It was so warm inside. He closed my door for me and walked around the car to the driver's seat.
"What happened!? Are you okay!? "Cameron asks.
I don't answer, because I was afraid that I would start crying, but I couldn't help it anymore. So I just sat there, hugging my knee to my chest and crying silently. I can't remember the last time I cried, but I don't like it. Cameron grabs a towel and wraps it around my knee. I wince at the pain. It burned. Cameron pulls me in a hug. I feel his heavy breathing and fast heart rate.
"You scared me to death. . . . . . .I. . . . . .I thought you were dead." Cameron says. I slowly pull away from the hug and see Cameron was crying. He looked kinda cute funny, when he cried. I smiled and he laughed, his laugh made me laugh. We probably spent 30 minutes crying and laughing together.
We are now just sitting in the car watching the rain fall. No one said a word.
"How's your leg" Cameron asks, breaking the comfortable silence between the two of us.
"Better. . . . . .hey, can I ask you a question?"
"Shoot"
"What were you so worried about when you found me?" I ask and turn to face him.
"I was worried about you." He says as if it was a stupid question.
"Why?"
"You were missing for 4 hours, there was a monsoon outside, and when I found you, you were on the side of the freeway crying. And who would I pick on if you were dead" he joked
"It was only 4 hours. . . . . . .it felt a lot longer" I chuckle. It felt like 6 hours or maybe even more.
"Your so stupid" Cameron says playfully.
" I know"
Then we just sat there. . . . .Starting into each other's eye's. Cameron's dark brown eyes pierced into mine, and I stared into his. He leans in. . . . . .and I do the same. We were only a nose distance apart. And. . . .very slowly close my eyes. Cameron closes his eyes and moves in. Our lips were millimeters away, I could feel his breath on my lips. At that moment my mind just went completely blank.
"HONKKKK!!!!!!!! HHOONNKKK!!!!!!!!!" We quickly broke apart. I turned my head to see what it was. It was Chris and the twins in the car. Chris was smirking at me and the twins were laughing and jumping out of their seats, waving.
