Meg didn't sleep at all that night. All she though Of was how she hurt Calvin. She knew she needed to apologize. She ran downstairs after getting dressed. Calvin was nowhere in site. Meg wondered if he ran away and went back to his home. She looked outside her window to see if Calvin was there. He was and so was Veronica. She was flirting for sure. The way she gave him a look. The way she touched his arms. It made meg a bit mad. Veronica caught Meg's sight and gave a smirk knowing how mad it would make her. Calvin noticed Veronica's gale and turned around to see meg who was staring blankly. Immediately meg went back upstairs.
"I gotta go." Calvin said not even making eye contact with Veronica. He jolted inside the house. Veronica glared at the house and turned around swiftly just to go back into her house. Calvin ran up the stairs into the attic. He knocked on the door.
"Meg can I come in." Calvin pleased feeling bad.
"Yeah." He heard a muffled voice say. Calvin opened the door to see meg facing the opposite side of him. He walked up to her and went to sit next to her. He sat down but meg refused to look him in the eye.
"Meg I..." but he couldn't finish his sentence.
"I'm such a terrible friend." She mocked herself.
"What do you mean." He asked with utter confusion.
"Last night. I was a terrible friend." She said still not making eye contact.
"Well I kinda snapped I guess." Calvin tried to make up for meg so she wouldn't feel so bad about herself.
"No Cal, I was wrong to push you away. I do care about you...I just have trouble finding the rights and using them. Instead the complete opposite comes out. It's not the fact that I just push people away, I just don't know how to let anyone in." Meg explains sadly. Calvin puts his hand on Meg's shoulder gently.
"Then let me be a start. Not everyone is bad." He tries to prove a point.
"I know I just have a lot of trust issues." She admitted.
"I know." Calvin applies.
"I'll try." She agrees and finally looks up at Calvin. She didn't have her glasses on. They were in her hands. Her brown eyes locked with his blue ones. He'd never seen her without glasses on. He found her to be even more stunning.
"You have really pretty eyes." Calvin exclaimed dreamily.
"So you've said." She said shaking her head admitting defeat and looking for again.
"You ready for school." He asked gently. She looked back up at him a nodded. The two teen went off to school and entered the building. Immediately girls of all around started swarming Calvin like moths to a flame. They asked him about his bruise and if he got in a fight. Meg just started for a second and then hunched her back to go to class as if nothing ever changes. Calvin only hoped to scurry his way back to meg but the swarm was a swarm and he couldn't escape. He tried to ask nicely but it didn't work. He spoke up and raised is voice a bit but all a worthless attempt.
"Please let go through" he yelled loudly getting the girls attention. They stopped and went off to catch meg who had already passed around the corner. Most of the girls who saw them come in together wander, why her and why not me. He caught up and tugged in her arm gently.
"Meg I'm sorry." He tried to apologize
"It's fine cal. Girls will be girls." She laughed a bit in misery. On the inside it killed meg but she would never admit that to not just Calvin but to the likes of herself. All she wanted to do was go back to Uriel and be where it was only Calvin Charles Wallace, her and of course the Mrs. She wished for their guidance but never an answer. She continued on her way to. Calvin stood back for a second for meg caught him off guard with her calm Attitude. He shook his head and caught up with once more.
"Those girls mean nothing meg. You mean something to me." He said trying to convince her anyway. Meg gave him an honest look.
"I trust you Calvin." She said slowly And surly.
"No your lying. Arnt you gonna get mad at me." The not convinced boy asked. He wouldn't accept that she was cool with girls doing this constantly.
"You told me to trust so I'm giving it a shot." She told him deeply with serious eyes.
"Alright." He believed her.
"You should get to class before your late." She suggested patting Calvin on the shoulder twice like a "buddy" would. She left bewildered. He wouldn't believe it thought secretly in his heart. Gym came and meg found herself outside to the same place where she hit Veronica with a basketball. She looked at the chained wall where Charles Wallace gave a timid wave and she gave a shrugged wave back to him. She thought about Uriel. She loved it. She louche about her love for the mrs. She thought about the love that came about her when it came to her father before he was found. She closed her eyes and thought. When she opened them the world was mystical at it swirled and wrinkled. It was familiar as she thought about it. She knew what was happening. She then closed her eyes again and a vision came upon her of bright and beautiful lights. She knew this feeling. Only once she had ever felt it. The last time she ever tessered. She enjoyed the feelings and opened her eyes to find herself on the green fields and mountain of Uriel. She looked around and smiled brightly the place she longed to go. She flung her arms out and spun around as the joy and relaxation overcame her. She wondered about....
"Why you've done it done it meg." She heard a familiar voice glee.
