It was a cold night like this one. I remember a man, a man in all black, who strutted towards me with a wicked grin. My blood ran cold at the sight of him. I couldn't get loose from the fishnet, I struggled and struggled but to no prevail; As if I was some trophy- he picked me up from my teal, scaly tail and threw the fishnet away while cackling at his victory.
I felt as he carried me away from my home, my life, and all that I knew.
"I'm afraid...someone....please help me," I thought as he tossed me onto the wooden floor. My tears stained the floor, while my fist balled in agony. Somehow I knew- I knew, that it was going to be the last time I saw the ocean.
I noticed when I awoke the lights were flickering, I realized I was in a new setting from the cold hard floor I was lying on.
I was being held captive in a big tank loaded with nothing but water,
He tossed me inside, and I heard the faintest clicking sound.
"What is that?" I questioned as fear risen from the depth of my soul.
He pointed a small rectangular item in my direction, causing me to flinch at the sound of the shutter and the bright flash that followed.
A sick feeling crept in the pit of my stomach while I planted my hand on the glass.
I was unsure of what to do, I didn't know what was going to happen to me and didn't want to find out.
the man opened the door, and a large group of people started filling the room with cameras and weapons
he chuckled before he waved a large staff and cracked the glass
The sound of the tank breaking echoed through the entire room.
both the water and I came flooding out the shattered tank a shard of glass pierced my tail leaving a nasty gash.
"It's bleeding, it has to be real, right?"
many voices from the people resounded with curiosity and uncertainty.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we're gathered here today! because we have learned there's been another species besides us all along,"
He roared while he continued to explain.
"Have your loved ones ever disappeared at sea? Drowned at the beach? or disappeared!?" He questioned.
"Ever wanted revenge?" He asked.
"Your culprit is right in front of you, he may not have done it, but the power to drown ordinary people is a gift to there kind!" he declared while he picked me up by my neck.
" avenge your family and friends!" He demanded.
he tossed me into the irritated humans with a look of pleasure plastered on his face.
"I'm sorry..." I repeated
I begged for help from a god of any kind, I laid there taking their abuse by irritated humans surrounding me.
my body grew weary with every blow I received, and with no resistance, I shut my eyes and allowed the darkness to take me.
