Chapter 4

Perseus laid against a large stone, he cried his eyes out as he spoke about our mother and father.

"Stop talking about them," I demanded, I still couldn't believe they were gone.

"We have to figure out how we're going to escape" I sighed.

"Escape? How we can't run nor Walk" Perseus whined as he looked up.

"Primus, look at that" he whispered as he pointed upwards.

A light was shining above us, we could feel the vibrations of fish, a lot of them.

I took Perseus by the hand and we swam up, his face was still gloomy.

But I too was sad, I couldn't show it, because I have to be strong for him.

As we arrived, we spotted the two deep-sea fish.

"Don't you two eat different kinds of fish?" I questioned.

They ignored me as they continued hunting, it was amazing. Their speed, their strength.

Their nails were long, and their tails were a dark color as well.

It amazed me at how different we both look, yet both live in the ocean.

"I'm hungry, can we hunt now, before they take all the fish?" Perseus mumbled shyly.

I nodded my head to him, and we both darted off to catch fish, flashbacks of both my parents flashed in my mind.

Holding back the tears were becoming hard.

"I caught one!" Perseus shouted proudly.

"My first fish, how'd I do!! Let's go show mo-" just as quick as his happiness came, it vanished.

His voice cracked, as he tried to speak.

He squeezed the fish in his hands so hard, it crushed within his grasp.

The blood oozed from it and mingled in the water.

I swam up to him, I embraced him tightly, he cried on my chest while the two deep-sea fish watched.

"Let's go, before we get infected with whatever they got" the male deep-sea fish stated.

"It's fine, we'll survive" I whispered in his ear.

"I'll make sure of that, I won't die, as long as you live, I'll be here to protect you" I assured him.

He calmed down, and soon I continued to hunt for my dinner, he ate his dead fish before he helped me.

"We'll be okay, I'll protect both of us" I declared before I finished my meal.
