Everything in life was a game to him.
Whether it was his education or it was his relationship.
He yearned to be the best. He couldn't, he just possibly couldn't settle for second best.
He played around, all the time. With bats, with pens and with hearts.
He knew just what to say to make someone melt under his touch, and at the same time, he knew what he had to say to destroy their very existence.
He liked having that kind of power.
As the bright green leaves of the spring turned into dark red leaves of autumn, he met someone who changed his life.
He has never felt more alive. All he wanted to do was spend time with them. Spend his whole life with them.
He had truly, madly, deeply fell in love and there was not coming back from that. He felt complete.
But, that phase didn't last very long. He soon returned to his old ways, of being the reputed heartbreaker. You know what they say, once a player, always a player. He started going through the girls like paper towels, desperately trying to get back that feeling of raw passion and lust he experienced with his oh so special one.
He never did. For someone who couldn't give up, for someone who had to be the best, he gave up one day, realising that he had the absolute best and he let her go. Old habits die hard. Unfortunately, his habits didn't die hard enough.
