"Look, Juliet i'm sorry for being a jerk earlier." I looked over at him with a confused look on my face. "What do you mean?" He scrunched his face up in thought. "Um Well... To be honest I got jealous when you told me about you being engaged to someone." My eyes widened. What?

He was jealous??..

I just sat there for a minute, confused. What does he mean he was jealous? What could he possibly be jealous about. There is no way he likes me like that.. Is it? Nope there is no way. "I don't understand.." I murmured. Really I just felt stupid for being so confused but I was. He had opened his mouth to speak just as someone knocked on his window, making us both jump. He slowly rolled his window down to see Bash staring at us. "Hey guys, What's going on? Are y'all coming inside?" Kaden sat up straight and pulled his keys out of the ignition. "Yeah man." I could hear a tad bit of relief in his voice as he jumped out of the truck. Hmm I don't think he wanted to tell me whatever he was about to say before we were interrupted. Bash looked over at me realizing I was still sitting in the truck. "Jules, You good?" I gave him a small smile, "Yes, i'm fine." I recovered and quickly followed them inside.

Kaden and Bash made their way over to the couch in the living room and grabbed the xbox controllers. My eye briefly met with Kaden's before he quickly looked away from me. Hmm. He's being weird. I wish I knew what he wanted to tell me.  whatever it was I don't think he wanted my brother to know. Heck, I kinda think he didn't want me to know...

I pulled my phone out as I ran upstairs and sent Lacey a quick message.

Me:   Heyy. Are you and Jack still at the party.

Lacee: Nah. It sucked and Jack had something come up. He just dropped me off. What's up.

Me: You wanna come hang out. we could have a little sleep over. We haven't had one in awhile.. I have a few things to talk to you about.

Lacee: Of course! On my way!!!

I knew she would be happy about it. It was a small sign that I was getting to my old self.

I jogged downstairs when I heard her car pull up. I opened to see her standing there with a bag full of sweets and ice cream, and big grin across her face. I chuckled and shook my head. "Go upstairs i'll get some spoons." I made my way to the kitchen with a grin on my face. My mom was washing dishes as I grabbed two spoons. "Hey sweetheart. You're smiling." "Yeah, Lace is sleeping over. Is that cool?" She smiled, "Of course." I made my way through the living room. Kaden had his eyes on me the whole time until I disappeared up the stairs.

"He likes you. He totally likes you!" I had just told Lacey everything that happened with Kaden today and she was convinced he liked me. "He does not." She rolled her eyes, "He basically told you he did when he said he was jealous of Jamie." My heart clenched slightly at the mention of Jamie. I abruptly stood up and started absentmindedly rearranging the stuff on my desk. I could feel tears prickling in the corner of my eyes at the mention of Jamie. "either way, it doesn't matter. Guys are the last thing on my mind right now. I just lost the one guy I thought would be the only guy on my mind for the rest of my life." I trailed off as I glanced over at the photo on my bed side table.

"Jules... I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking." Lacey apologized sincerely. I quickly shook my head, "Don't apologize. I asked for your opinion." I sat back in my former spot and gave her a reassuring smile.

"Hey Jules... I got to get to work." Lacey shook me awake early Saturday morning. I slipped my slippers on and followed her downstairs. "How long are you working?" I shivered as she opened the front door. I only had on a tank top and some shorts. "Uh I go in at twelve and stay till closing." I nod and bite my lip in thought. Lacey works at a little ice cream parlor in the middle of town. It's where all the teenagers go after school. Jamie and I used to go all the time. I hadn't been since he died because of how much it reminds me of him. Not only did we spend a lot of our time there but it's where I met him and where he asked me to be his girlfriend. "Maybe i'll uh... stop by later." She looked up at me with wide eyes, "Really? You sure about that?" I gave her a small smile, "Yeah. It was Me and Jamie's favorite place. He wouldn't want me to quit going just cause he can't be there with me." I noticed a small tear slide down her cheek before she wrapped her arms around me. "That would be great, Jules. Just text Jack. He'll give you a ride."  I nodded in agreement before she rushed home.
