It's been about two weeks since Bash and Kaden came back and I ditched school. School has gotten a lot better. Since my outburst on that girl people have calmed down on the rumors. I'd still occasionally hear a few whispers in the hall but no where near as many. I could now sit in the cafeteria with Lacey and Jack without the stares and whispers. Most people have moved on to the scandalous break up between the lead cheerleader and captain of the football team that occurred earlier this week. I had noticed Lacey acting a little strange lately. Whenever she noticed I was around she wouldn't hold Jack's hand or let him show her any affection. As far as at home goes, I am still avoiding my father at all costs. My mom and I were back on speaking terms. after seeing how worried she had been when I left school, I realized how much it was hurting her that I was ignoring her. I knew for a fact her and dad were fighting after hearing them arguing in the kitchen when I went to grab some water. I hadn't heard much but I heard enough to know they were arguing over me. Bash has been driving me to and from school everyday and once we get home he makes me watch a movie with him and Kaden before I locked myself in my bedroom. It did help me to get my mind off of Jamie so I didn't complain much. Kaden hasn't talked to me much since that night in my room. I mean we've spoken but not much one on one.

The last bell went off signaling it was time to leave for the weekend. It was Friday so everyone was eagerly making there way out the doors, probably to get ready for some party. Jack and Lacey were already waiting at my locker when I got there. "Hey guys." They gave me a smile, "Hey Jules. Jack and I are going to Crystal's party tonight. We were wondering if you might want to come. Get out of the house for a bit?" "No thanks. Besides I promised Janet i'd come over for dinner." "Oh okay at least you are getting out of the house." We began walking towards the exit,"Oh. Lace I need to talk to you about something." Jack got the hint, "I'll wait by the car, babe. Jules, tell Janet if she needs anything to let me know." I agreed and gave him a quick goodbye hug. "What's up." she said tilting he head to the side. "Well I was wondering is everything OK with you and Jack? or is it me?" She furrowed her eyebrows, "I've noticed you don't hold hands when i'm around and you don't let him show you affection. Usually you are all for that kinda stuff." She nervously looked down at her hands, "I feel guilty... It feels wrong flaunting around my happy relationship right after Jamie.." she didn't finish that thought. I pulled her in for a hug, "I love you so much for that lace, but I don't want you compromising your relationship for me. Seeing you and Jack happy together makes me happy." "it's just I know you are hurting and I don't want to add to your suffering." "You aren't, okay?" "Okay."

As we walked through the parking lot, I furrowed my eyebrows. My brother's car wasn't in it's usual spot. Instead a black dodge truck was in it's place and Kaden was leaning against it. He had his arms crossed over his chest. He was wearing a slightly tight t-shirt and jeans that fit him perfectly. His muscles looked so delicious in that- wait! what the hell am I thinking? I quickly shook the thoughts out of my head. "Wait isn't that Kaden?" I looked down at Lacey. I had totally forgot to tell her he was back. "Yeah he came back with Bash." A slow smirk formed on her face, "Is he staying in your house?" I rolled my eyes, "Yes and quit with that look it's not happening." She knew about my huge crush I had on him before he left. "You used to have a huge crush on him..." she trailed off. "Key word used to. Even if I still did it wouldn't matter, i'm not getting involved with anyone anytime soon." She gave me an Understanding look before we said our goodbyes.

I made my way over to Kaden, "Where's Bash?" He started walking towards the passenger door as he spoke, "He had to help your dad with something. He asked me to come get you." He opened the door for me and i jumped in. "Since Bash is busy, would you mind giving me a ride somewhere? I'd need to go home and shower first." I asked as he pulled out of the school parking lot. "Yeah sure no problem."

We stayed quiet for a while neither of us really knowing what to say. He glanced over at me before turning his focus back to the road. "Your mom's really happy you are talking to her again. Do you mind me asking what happened." "Oh um It's just I knew she never liked Jamie. I figured she was gonna take my father's side of things. I wasn't really mad at her really. I kinda just needed my space from them I guess." He nodded in understanding but kept his focus on the rode. "I hope you don't mind but Bash told me the gist of what happened.." "No it's fine." He was quiet for a second, "And I definitely don't think your mom is taking your dad's side. There's been some serious awkward tension when they both are in a room." he explained. "I think they are fighting." I told him just as we pulled into my driveway. "I won't be long I just have to take a shower and change." I said as I jumped out of the truck." He smiled, "It's fine, take as long as you need."
