Alexis shuts off her car, and climbs out the open door, shuts it, locks it, and heads inside. She pads barefooted into the kitchen as she lets her hair down, and it tumbles gracefully down to her waist as she cuts up some vegetables and chicken. Tipping the cutting board into a semi-hot pan she brushes the chicken so it can start cooking a little. She checks her phone to find some messages from her parents asking where she is, and if she is ok.
~flashback~
She tossed her three suitcases in her truck as she ignored her mom screaming at her, Alexis had tears streaming down her face as she notices the bruises on her arm
~end flashback~
Alexis absent mindedly rubs her arms at the memory and slides the vegetables into the pan and gently stirred the sauté. She pulls her phone out of her pocket and answers the call to bear a screaming Dani.
" I GOT A DAAAAATEEEE!!!!"
Alexis laughs, and listens to dani ramble about this cute guy she met at the store while Alexis was on break. As dani is retelling her and Alexander's conversation, Alexis turns off the burner and eats her dinner straight from the pan once it cools down. After about an hour of gossiping and talking the girls hang up, and Alexis climbs the steep stairs leading to the second floor of the apartment, and falls asleep before her head even hits the pillow.
