Ok quick note before we begin (sorry!) ☺️
Because the siblings were separated in the last chapter, I'm going to have to write in multiple POVs (Points of View)
I've never actually done that with a character that's not my own
So apologies in advance if it's kind of weird 😂
The chapters are still going to be in 3rd person but viewing different characters, just so we're clear :)
Ok! On to the story!

Ellia POV
The ceiling was dripping again.
Ellia was huddled in a corner of the dark cell she'd been thrown in, mind racing. She knew Shark was in the world now (good), and that he was a Templar (not good). She was trying to figure out how to get out, find Shark, and somehow convince him to change sides. Not to mention, her brother was probably being stalked by him, and if he was as distraught by the death of Shadow as she was, he was actually in trouble of being caught by the guard stalking him.
However, once the ceiling started dripping, all her thoughts were cut short.
The stupid drops of water would soak through a crack in the ceiling, then land with a plunk in a puddle on the stone floor. Why her cell dripped, Ellia had no clue, but she wanted it to stop. She could never concentrate with the constant sound of dripping water echoing around the cell.
She stood up, stretching out her body. She'd been cramped in the corner for who knows how long, and she was stiff from staying in the same position for too long. Looking around at the cell, she decided she could have had it worse.
It was always a bit shadowy from the fort's wall outside the barred window, but it was never pitch black and was relatively warm. There was a cot in the room, and it was definitely not the worst thing Ellia had ever slept on. The room was small, but she could get up and walk around a bit if she needed to. A small wooden stool in the corner gave her a place to think. On top of it all, she was given bread and water in the morning and evening, so that was that problem solved.
The thing that was killing her were the interrogations.
Every day, a guard would take her out of her cell and drag her to a small room down the hall, where racks of weapons were set up. Said guard would then ask her all kinds of questions, and if he didn't get the answer he wanted, she'd get a jab or slash from a sword, spear, or axe. She'd always be dragged back to her cell after a long period of time, bloody and bruised. She'd been through three such interrogations, and they were beginning to take their toll on her.
She had too many bruises to count, two black eyes, and several nasty gashes on her arms and face. A slash across her back throbbed constantly in addition to the rest of her injuries, not to mention the fact that the guards were hurling verbal insults at her the entire time as well.
She figured the guards were trying to make her lose her mind, but she was determined to see them fail.
A shadow crossed the wall in front of the torchlight that lot up the hallway in front of Ellia's cell. She sighed.
Time for another interrogation.
Where are you, Sabre?
...
Another tear leaked from Sabre's eye as he looked down at Shadow's broken form. He whispered his friend's name, shaking with sobs.
