In a world where everything was made of glass, no one have ever truly understood her. She was fire and water. Light to ones, and darkness to others. Life didn't play well since the very beginning, giving her hopes she ended up not believing in once grownup. Prologue:
Some journeys are made to return, others just to get lost. Saffron Walker was a 19-year-old broken girl who never had great plans for the years to come. But one thing was clear: she wanted to spend even more time far away from there, the city in which she was born. Too many memories to run. Too many promises to forget about. She would have wanted to finish college, and then fell back home, but it was a call at midnight to set her demons off. The voice was almost unrecognizable, but she knew who it belonged to. She did not remember if that was just a dream or was it some kind of longing. For the first time in her life, she was asking for more, and she supposed to know the truth. What she has deliberately avoided to remember. Arkell Vaughn was a guy with a lot of plans: find his father, who has been missing since that eight december of thirteen years ago; find out how, that night, his house caught on fire; and bring Kevin back home, where he belongs. All he needed was just to fill out his broke down heart, sitting somewhere for a while, and not move at all. Homeless, this is what he became. Trapped in a life full of trouble and danger, and never complained about anything. He knew he would have paid the price for what he was planning on, but it was fully worth it. Everything was still as planned, details too, but what he never counted on, was that his heart would, somehow, set on fire.
