She stood in the balcony and looked out to what was her favorite thing about the city, the view. But today, something didn't seem right. She didn't feel the kind of joy she always felt looking at the magnificent skyline of her favorite city. What was it that had changed? Unfortunately, she knew the answer, and it hurt. More than she could've thought. How could someone's absence be so harrowing that it clawed at her feelings like a predator? She was letting somebody dictate her happiness and she couldn't even take control of it. It was equally frustrating as it was tormenting.

With some deep breaths, she tried to numb the pain and ease the tension. Still very much unaware of where life was taking her.......
