Chapter 3- Pocky Pals

???? POV
This girl...she is acting different...normally she is not this open or nice...I have to keep an eye on her...she may be planning something...

Ayano POV
I arrive at school. It's Wednesday. Amai is still sick, but I can still hang out with my new friend Osana. T-This feeling...it's back...a-and why am I smiling? This is o-odd...Anyway, Osana is not here yet. I guess I can just wait at the entrance until she gets here. I guess I can check up on Amai.
Me:Good Morning, Amai! How are you feeling?
Amai:I'm feeling a little better Aya-chan! I am about to go back to sleep, I just woke up to eat something. Bye! Have a fantastic day at school! :)
Me: Bye Amai! I hope you feel better soon! And Thank you! :)
After a While...Bell Rings
B-but where is Osana...?
"Ayano! Wait up!"
I turn around to see Osana, Thank goodness she's alright.
"Hi Osana! Come on, we need to hurry before we are late for class."
"Lead the way!"
At lunch...
"Bento?" Osana asks me.
"Bento." I respond.
I open up my bento,

and taking a bite of sushi.
"Impressive...you even brought soup." Osana says, smirking, and then opens her bento,

and takes a bite of meat.
"May I have some rice?" I ask politely.
"If I can have some soup." Osana replies.
"Deal." I say smiling.
We eat our bento and share the food we made a deal to share.
Bell Rings...
"Time to get back to class!" I say, I then notice Osana on her phone, a worried look on her face.
"I need to leave...family..." Osana tries to speak.
"I understand, go." I say, my voice laced with concern.
Osana runs away, worried and terrified. I really hope everything is ok. I turn around to go to class and see Budo. Why is he here?
"H-Hey Ayano!" Budo says happily.
"Hi Budo, I'm sorry I can't really talk right now. I really need to get to class before I'm late."
"Oh...t-that's right...could we walk at club time?"
"Sure."
"G-Great m-meet me in the Martial Arts club room."
"Ok, see you then."
Club Time...
I walk to the martial arts club room. I wonder why Budo wants to see me. We have never really interacted, so I'm surprised he remembered my name. I make it to the door of the club room. I open the door and walk inside. No one is there. Maybe Budo is busy with something else...I hear the door open.
I turn around and see Budo, his face a little worried.
"H-Hey Ayano, what's up?"
"Why did you want to talk to me?"
"Getting straight to the point I see...I wanted to...talk...about......Joining the martial arts club!"
"I'm not interested." I say as I begin to walk away.
"No wait!"
"What?" I say in my monotone voice, turning around.
"U-Umm..." Budo can't think of what to say.
"I'm leaving, don't you have club activities to do today?"
"..."
"Goodbye, Budo."
"Wait! Um...pocky?" Budo says holding an open box of pocky.

I do love pocky...fine. I take a pocky stick and bite into it.
"So...how's your day been?" Budo asks.
"Fine. Your's?" I reply.
"Good."
For a while we just had small simple mini conversations like that, while eating pocky of course.
"What's your favorite type of pocky?" Budo asks.
I pull out my on box of pocky,

and hand it to him.
"Can I have one?"
"Sure."
Budo takes out a pocky stick and bites into it.
"It's delicious!" He says, his eyes lighting up. He consumes the rest of the pocky stick and asks for another. I say yes. He consumes the pocky stick and asks for another. I say yes. This goes on for a while and eventually I say,
"You can have the whole box if you want."
"Really!?!??" Budo says/asks excitedly.
"Ya, I have like 20 more boxes of pocky at home and 10 more boxes in my locker."
"Wow, you really like pocky."
"I do."
Bell Rings...
Well better get back to class. It has been fun hanging out with Budo though.
"Well, I better get to class. It's been fun hanging out with you Budo!" I say, with a smile on my face and wave goodbye.
"It's been fun hanging out with you too!" Budo says, smiling, and runs of to class.
End of day...

???? POV
I see...maybe she is not planning something...she doesn't seem all that bad...although who knows...she is really good at deceiving people, like her mother...I need to gather more information and I need to stop acting stupid...

Ayano POV
Before Budo gets to his locker I go and put a little gift inside. It's a box of vanilla pocky and a note. I hope he likes it!

Budo POV
It's the end of the day. I go to my locker to change shoes when a box of pocky

and a note fall out. I read the note...
Dear Budo,
I had fun hanging out with you today! Maybe we could do it again sometime! I had a bunch of extra pocky, and I know how much you love this kind, I decided to give you a box! Have fun eating your vanilla pocky! Bye!

Wow...that's really nice of her...I better thank her...maybe I was wrong about her...where is she? I look around for her, she's no where in sight. I look back at the note and notice something else that's written.
P.S.
By the time you get this gift, I will most likely already be gone home. Bye again!
Oh...well I can just thank her tomorrow. I walk home.

Ayano POV
I watch Budo leave. I'm hiding around the corner. I walk home too. The reason I didn't want him to see me was because I didn't want to deal with the conversation. I really just want to go home and not have my mind clouded with another acquaintance.
